You know how Americans love Islands, so not surprised they still have it in the iPhone even if under the screen was a possibility.

i remember last year there were leaks and rumours floating around with the new size of Dynamic Island but for 17 Pro. Looks like they were for 18 Pro or maybe they were just fake but seems interesting anyway.

Think it is becoming quite certain that it will be a smaller dynamic island. Smaller dynamic island cut out is good. It might not be even all screen for 20th anniversary and the hole punch will be for 2027 model.

What a waste of everyones time.

either don't bother, or get rid of it or just have a small hole punch when not in use.

None of this in between crap. hate modern apple but this is probably the last of Jeff "bean counter" Williams decisions.

I get it that all these leakers need their news and content to be out in digital media and blogs need their content as well… but can we please be clear here about how ridiculous all this stuff is these days with such small changes.
How much trouble and bs some people making around it with false assumptions and way too much coverage about it.

In 2027 we still have dam cut outs is shameful, everything should be under the display, androids have had single camera holes for years. This isn’t innovation, it’s ridiculous how little change year on year, after a full decade we should have no cut out on displays, 10 years you had to do this but we have the same cut outs for years at a time

This is what the look of the front of Samsung Galaxy S10+ should have been.

The notch got narrower but deeper in the iPhone 13 series and was only used in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, until they released the iPhone 16e.

The pill cutout reduction will be used for about a year then will be reused in a newer model sometime later.
