I am not planning to upgrade my 16 Pro Max this year despite being eligible and this potential increase in cost confirms my decision even more. I won't be paying any more for a new device than I paid for my current phone and if that means I have to go back to buying the previous years handset next time I do upgrade, then so be it. These phones change so little year on year, its become difficult to justify paying £1300+ for a device. I may even consider dumping the Pro altogether now standard devices have decent specs.

I'm betting the next few product launches do not mention RAM shortages or pricing at all. There may be price increases, but Apple won't mention why. This is because Nintendo is currently being targeted for class action lawsuit for tariff refunds. Basically, Nintendo raised prices and blamed tariffs, so now the customers want the money back. Apple raised some prices as well, but did not mention tariffs as a reason, so they can keep their tariff refunds. Best to keep their mouths shut.
