I think you missed his line that said 'the best camera you carry around with you'. My iPhone is the only camera I carry around with me daily, like most people. I don't lug my DSLR around with me, but I do take it to places at weekends if I know I will be taking pictures, but that is obviously a very different scenario.
Go buy and use the 17e, if you want better then use your camera or get something like the dji osmo pocket 4 or 4 pro who is going to release…

It won’t make any difference in terms of money since the 18 pro is expected to be more expensive.

I use a 16 Pro Max and don't need to use a different iPhone at this point, and I am not bothering with my upgrade this year. The point being made though, was we all carry a camera around with us in the form of a smartphone camera. 'It's the best camera you carry around with you'; in the broader sense. That wasn't a claim that could then be dissected to find additional tiny camera's people can carry, because generally most people aren't carrying around phones and separate digital cameras in everyday use. It was a general point they made and isn't that deep.

Again showing you don’t understand how cameras work

I think they may start at $1,299 for Pro and $1,399 for Pro Max. They will start with 512GB of storage, so they secretly start at a higher price, but they can say they did not increase the price from last year.
