I think a top left hole in the screen is even more annoying that the island or notch. I actually prefer the notch on iPhones until there is nothing.

They skipped the 9 so that the 10 could be the 10th anniversary model so it has precedent. The 20th anniversary model will be the iPhone 20 one way or another, likely rebranded as the XX.

R.I.P. Dynamic Island?

R.I.P. distinctive iPhone design. Unfortunately, the only thing Apple won’t copy is the lower price, even a slightly lower price. Other than that the only way you’ll know for sure you’re looking at an iPhone is checking for the Apple logo on the back. Apple will have to find a way to differentiate it from Android phones.

It's always the iPhone after the next iPhone that will have the exciting and useful features. 😂

Feature rationing at its finest. At least this year no one will mistake your 17 Pro as a 13/14/15/16 Pro. Maybe that doesn’t matter anymore to a large number of people, but there are some people who would appreciate a visual change.
