iPhone 18 Pro Starts at $1,199, Pro Max at $1,299

Apple today announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with pricing starting at $1,199 for the Pro model and $1,299 for the Pro Max, both with 256GB of storage as the base configuration.

The increase amounts to $100 over the equivalent iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max pricing, matching what Bloomberg's Mark Gurman had predicted ahead of today's event. That is a smaller jump than many analysts had floated over the summer.

Both models now offer a 2TB storage option for the first time, sitting above the previous 1TB ceiling for an added cost.

Apple is also offering the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max through its Apple Upgrade program, which starts at $34.99 a month over 24 months and can come in lower for customers who trade-in an eligible device. Separately, customers trading in an iPhone 14 or newer toward a new purchase can get up to $1,200 off.

The pricing arrives after months of speculation that Apple would raise iPhone prices more steeply this year, following a broader run of cost increases across its Mac, iPad, and home product lines earlier in 2026 tied to the global memory shortage.

It was simply a matter of not looking worse than their competitors, supported by the reports of Apple's efforts to pay less for non-memory/storage components, particularly the discount they obtained for the screens.

I was about to say the same thing lol. I love getting the S year models, usually fix the weak points of the previous year and some good internal upgrades. Will be upgrading from my 14 pro max

I do wish they touched on any improved durability to the coating of these ones since that was definitely a point of controversy for the 17 pro series last year. But mine will live in a case anyways

wondering the same thing, would love black but after seeing some of the durability issues of the 17 pro series, im wondering if silver is the better bet

The Apple online store says $195 trade-in value for an iPhone 14 toward an iPhone 18 Pro.

Yep, the only thing coming close to $1200 is the $1350 offered for trading in a MBP.

This will be "free" or near free on a 3 year contract with most major US carriers shortly if people are OK with that of course.

This is almost identical to 17 Pro max minus the 2 nm chip and more expensive. Why would anyone buy this over 17 pro max?
