Last week, Macworld's Filipe Espósito reported that Apple is testing four color options for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and one of those colors has since been corroborated by a known leaker on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

The four alleged color options include Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Dark Gray, and Silver.

Dark Cherry would be the signature new color option for the iPhone 18 Pro models this year, following Cosmic Orange for the iPhone 17 Pro models. This might end up being the "deep red" that was previously rumored for the devices.

Weibo leaker "Instant Digital" today corroborated the Dark Cherry color option, describing it as a mix of burgundy, coffee, and deep purple. Those were all previously-rumored iPhone 18 Pro color options, but it appears that they are actually one in the same.

"Instant Digital" has accurately leaked Apple information before, such as the yellow color for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

Light Blue looks similar to the iPhone 13 Pro's Sierra Blue color option.

Depending on the shade, Dark Gray could be similar to either the iPhone 13 Pro's Graphite color option or the iPhone 14 Pro's Space Black finish.

Silver would remain an option too — it is Apple's classic color.

iPhone 17 Pro models are available in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver. Macworld said Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue will likely be discontinued, so do not expect either of those color options to remain available for the iPhone 18 Pro models.

Last year, Macworld accurately leaked the iPhone 17 Pro's Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue colors, but the report also mentioned black, white, and gray color options that did not materialize. So, at least some of the rumored iPhone 18 Pro colors will likely prove to be true, but it remains to be seen if Apple moves forward with all four.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro models in September.

Since I have put every recent iPhone/three cameras into a case, the only color seen is the rear plateau with the three lenses, flash etc. Silver is the most neutral color choice for me. Doubt this will be another must have year so will worry about hardware maybe in 2027.

I don't know why colour is so important when you can change the color of your phone with a case, which most people have on their phones anyway.
True to a certain point. If it's just black or silver than I wouldn't mind slapping on any other case. But if the back was nicely coloured, I would put a clear case like I have on my 11 Pro to see that green.

I like this year's orange (although, I wish it were more of a pure, punch-you-in-the-face orange and less "dreamsicle"... If you're going to go orange, go orange). But as someone who has always chosen "basic black," that dark cherry is hot. I'm not in the market for an upgrade this year or next (I have a 16 Pro), but if I was, that might be my choice.

I'm still using an 13 PM, and wanted to upgrade, but I really don't like the new design with "plateueue" and two color background. Somehow, it doesn't grow on me.

I wish there was a 17 plus model...

I’ll just be going silver from now on. I think it looks the best with almost any case, particularly clear or frosted cases.

How they will look in person could be very different. Every time I see an orange Pro on tv or online it looks really good, but every time I see one in person I don't care for it at all.

Do we REALLY need another dark purple or light blue this soon though? Like we've already had Deep Purple and Sierra Blue as the hero colors 3 and 4 cycles ago...

idk i would kill for that cherry color, one reason i’ve held onto my 14PM for so long is because i love the deep purple- i’m a sucker for good color in the same way Steve was, so, hope this comes to fruition and doesn’t end up being a sadly desaturated burgundy like we saw the other day in pics. if cosmic orange is any indicator, signature colors might finally become vibrant on the pro again, & i’m looking forward to that.

While most people do use a case, there also are a lot of people who do not. And some of those who do use a case use a clear case. For these people, color would be important.

We can see from pre-order sales that certain colors are more popular than others

We do not know how much supply Apple has for each new iPhone configuration, but if extended delivery estimates generally align with strong demand, then Cosmic Orange for the Pro models and Cloud White for the iPhone Air are proving to be especially popular color options so far. For the regular iPhone 17, Sage and Black are in demand.
