Apple is so dumb. Apple is so dumb. Apple is really, really dumb.
Perfect, buttons on the side in a flat plane of glass you can't feel but will eagerly trigger actions just from being held! I (opposite of) love it!Someone at Apple's Crack engineering team recalled this iPhone 6 concept and made a whole prototype on it. Insane.

It does make it possibly the ugliest phone ever to be sold. That's useful to its competition.Cue all the posts about how this doesn’t add anything useful. 🙄
Oh, wait. That’s what I think!
A palantir.Spherical phone. Has no corners.
It doesn't matter it's an iPhone so however you hold it, it's wrong. How do you hold it?
No, you have two.If I drop it on the ground and it cracks in half, do I now have a new iPhone mini?
Not only Curved Glass … Liquid Glass doesn’t add anything useful either.Cue all the posts about how this doesn’t add anything useful. 🙄
Oh, wait. That’s what I think!
Or a brand new iPhone Ultra, if you had the skill. No, you have two.
My theory is that this will not be nearly as dramatic as the images, nor as people think. I think they are trying to reduce the bezels as much as possible. This won't be the screen rolling onto the side of the phone. It will simply be the screen extending to the edge, and the glass rolling to meet the side, very similar to the apple watch, but even less of a rolling edge. The want the screen-to-body ratio to be as close to 100% as possible. I think that's a great thing.Curious how this looks. Should be change in smartphone market
Could the X have been both, maybe? Because it came out in 2007+10 as “10” when it should have been “9” and marked the 12th generation iPhone. I have never seen it not referred to as an anniversary phone.Even the iPhone X wasn’t an anniversary phone, it was just… the next generation of iPhone.
board complains about rumored design change specifically, not generally …Apple keeps phone design the same...board complains. Rumored design change...board complains.
I agree. But I doubt, the edge area will be touch-active. It will give Apple the opportunity to expand on the Dynamic Island metaphor , i.e. active-screen-is-the-sea theme by referring to the edge area as “Static Shoreline” 😀😜Sigh. Form over function rides again.
Bezels serve a purpose. I quite like to be able to pick up my phone or hand it to someone without activating a bunch of random functions - and the flip case I usually use would cover these edge displays anyway.
