IF there is an iPhone 2,1 in June or sometime this summer, am I correct that current 3G owners will not be able to upgrade? I know on my iPhone AT&T page it says that I'm not eligible for upgrade until December 2009 but I just want to make sure this is the case.

You can always sell your iPhone on eBay and use that money towards the new one...like I do plan on doing (again). 😉

Very likely.... AT&T will as always have a subsidized version, followed by a non-subsidized but contract version, and a no commit version, although I highly doubt AT&T will pull the no commitment version out....
