Basically you want a 3G N95 in the body of an iPhone.

One of the reasons this isn't possible any time soon is that the 3G chips are too big to fit into the iPhone chassis. They also run way hot and suck up juice like a madman. Until all those issues are fixed with 3G chips, there won't be a 3G iPhone.

Any way, call me crazy, but the copy/paste complaint is ridiculous in my opinion as I have never been on the go saying "man, if only my phone could copy and paste this block of text".

you're crazy ;)

This is one thing that annoys me constantly in my phones (though my XDA2 worked great with it) - someone texts you or emails you some information and you have to write it out by hand on some paper to re-enter web address/name/address other bit of useful info. The ability to move/edit blocks of text like I do on my PC constantly is so useful and an annoying ommision.

IMAP sorts all that out for me on my iPhone. For all three email accounts I track.

I'm only worried about that for my work email, and my company has specifically said that they will not support the iPhone as an email device.

They also said that they won't pay for cell phone usage on an iPhone because there's no corporate discount. But then, my momma once told me not to get a tattoo...of Roy Orbison...

That will never happen. As somone else pointed out, it has an iPod in it. Also, it would not encourage people to buy songs from the iTunes Store, especially if they can record radio. Granted, there's news, etc. but Apple will just push podcasts to get them.

I'd like to see the ability to download podcasts over Wi-Fi. Doesn't seem like that's hard code to write.

Soon enought I think we will see the corporate discount. Atat guys told me that a package will come out after the SDK with some apps tailored for businesses. Take it for what you will but I beileve it will happen.

I hope so, and it makes sense for Apple, either themselves or via a third party app., to emulate the full push email capabilities of the BB. Personally, I think what the iPhone can do will explode once it's opened up to third party developers.

I agree. I'm holding off on buying the phone to see about the discount. My company has the full corporate contract and the discounts are enormous for blackberry's as well as the plans ( data as well).

Maybe my company isn't good at negotiating with AT&T, but my Blackberry data only plan costs $70, including international roaming. My iPhone's data plan is $20 plus $25 for international roaming.

so what you're saying is that apple will not improve something unless they can find a way to do you over for some money first?
