Why do you keep posting that picture when the description is basically what the Apple Watch edges look like? It won't look like that picture.

I remember seeing an article (possibly a rumor) about this even before the original iPhone was released. Apparently, a wraparound screen was part of Steve Jobs’ vision way back then.

Obviously, at the time it was imagined as an iPod concept, since the iPhone didn’t even exist yet, but there are still images of the concept floating around online. So the idea definitely isn’t as far-fetched as it might seem.

maybe, maybe not ... simply pointing out that all this "revamp" doesn't do anything for those using a case, which I believe is at least half of all iPhone users if not more ... but, sure, keep the hype going

Totally not interested in full glass iphone, curved edges, smaller or none bezels. We have better batteries nowadays. So, what is Apple waiting for? Bring on new Mini iPhones, and, please make a statement: no AI, no Siri, just iPhone Mini. My 13 mini is fine as it is actually. If it would break down, a new 13 mini would be on top of my wish list, no matter the price. I know many other mini-users think likewise.

Apple plans to release a special 20th-anniversary iPhone next year with the biggest design changes since the iPhone X, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Unveiled by Steve Jobs in 2007, the iPhone turns 20 next year. To mark the occasion, the report said Apple plans to release a 20th-anniversary iPhone with "curved glass around all corners and edges" and thinner bezels around the screen.

"It will be the biggest overhaul to what is now the iPhone Pro line since the iPhone X," the report said, but no further details were provided.

Released in 2017, the iPhone X was the first iPhone with Face ID. The removal of the Touch ID button allowed for the iPhone X's screen to extend more towards the edges of the device compared to previous models. It seems like the 20th-anniversary iPhone would go a step further than this by truly having the screen wrap around the corners and edges of the device, for a seemingly all-glass appearance.

Rumors about the 20th-anniversary iPhone have gone back and forth, but based on Gurman's latest reporting today, the device seems to be in the works still. However, it remains to be seen if Apple can fully achieve the ambitious design changes that are apparently in development, or if plans for the device will ultimately be scaled back.

In other words, Gurman has no idea what the device will look like. Curved glass all around the corners and edges just means wasted screen space hidden under the user’s fingers as shown in the concept. Ick.

Other than the screen being bigger and cameras better, using my 17 isn’t much different to using my old 5s. It will always just be a touchscreen phone until the day they implant it in our heads.

Given the recent emphasis of form over function as seen with the liquid glass UI, applying that theme to the iPhone 20 itself somehow makes sense. However, the distinctive feature on the X was not one of design but rather a technological advance. The first iPhone introduced Touch ID, the 10th brought Face ID. As a result, I strongly believe a new secure unlock ID method will be introduced with the next anniversary model.

It will not be Voice ID because that would no longer be secure in the age of AI. What cannot be replicated, however, is saliva. You set up a DNA profile for on-device storage. When you authenticate, you’ll “access” the DNA reader at the bottom edge of the phone to provide a sample which is then checked against the profile. Apply saliva to a finger and place it on the reader. Alternatively, touch directly with the tip of your tongue. The latter option — expected to be the preferred one — gives the new method its name: Tongue ID.

With that in mind, picture this scene:
