I'm on a unlimited family plan, and it's not working here either.

If you're on at&t with a Messaging 200, Messaging 1500, Messaging Unlimited, or Family Unlimited with the correct ipcc (verify this with Xcode's Console giving the 403 Forbidden error instead of some other mms_proxy or other error), can you post if you requested your device to be "provisioned" (their words) for MMS?

I've got those things taken care of.

Chatting with AT&T at the moment to see if they'll do the MMS provisioning.

How do I check that in Xcode? I cant find the log anywhere

Here's what I get:

Sat Mar 21 12:02:39 unknown CommCenter[33] <Error>: MMS: Operation could not be completed. Operation not permitted
Sat Mar 21 12:02:39 unknown CommCenter[33] <Error>: MMS: no response from MMSC

Ugh, no dice. I was flat out lied to by the rep I spoke with:

Sarah Williams (the rep): I apologize that you do not understand. You can only have one piece of equipment on your line at one time for your service to work correctly. Therefore the system can not read that you are using a different phone, Mr. Johnson.

Trying to work my way up the chain...

My block is on AT&T side, I get the 403 Forbidden message when looking at the console logs. Trying to figure out a way to take off my iPhone unlimited messaging plan and add the regular messaging unlimited.

even if you add standard unlimited messaging it probably won't work, i've done it with mine, have the new carrier update and it still won't work. I've talked to ATT multiple times and they have no idea, they keep telling me to call Apple but I'm not too keen on that haha

Visual Voicemail Stops Delivering

Visual Voicemail stops delivering when I apply the ipcc file linked in this thread, as well as all other Tethering and/or MMS enabling ipcc files that I have tried.

Hi, is the file suppose to work in any country with any carrier ? I'm actually using Orange in France.

what did you do?

I called AT&T and told them I was in the Dev Program and needed to be able to test MMS. The first customer service rep didn't know what to do and he transferred me to tech support. He hooked it up. All good now. He even called me back to make sure it was working. The tech support guy was actually excited that he was able to get it working for me. He said he had heard that 3.0 had MMS support but this was the first time he was able to work with someone to get it online.

I must say, for all the crap AT&T gets, they have been nothing but amazing for me- and this is just another example.

You must have gotten the one cool guy at AT&T. Everyone I've spoken to has just read me the same script about Apple not giving them permission to "throw the switch."

Make sure you elevate up to technical support if you hadn't already. The "front line" service reps don't seem to be much help. He tried to give me the line that it's on Apple's end but I just politely told him that that isn't the case, that MMS is enabled in this beta firmware released to developers to test, and that I need the functionality to be sure my app works. He said that he would speak to tech support who came on the line and set me up.

You do have to be on a non-iPhone text plan. I'm on a family messaging plan with my lady.

Currently working with AT&T, I no longer get the 403 forbidden message when viewing the logs. Now I get a MMSC connection timed out message.

Glad to see people are getting somewhere! As soon as more people actually get AT&T to enable their MMS I'll give it a go. :D

Well, idiot goes and talks to tech support after helping me at first and then comes back and tells me iPhone doesn't support MMS.

Back to square 1.

AT&T - I love you now

I just called - got directed to Tech Support. The guy knew exactly what to do. He had me power down the phone so you could send a new configuration. Called me on my landline to confirm it worked. And voila - it did!

Also, tethering is still active - won't work over Bluetooth on my MBP but that seems to be a symptom of the Bluetooth on portables. I can tether via Bluetooth on my MacPro.

Cool!

Is this after you loaded the new ipcc or did he actually send you a new configuration?

If I could only get me a copy of 3.0... I work for at&t, I'd configure it myself, lol.

Hook me up, I'll hook you up ;)

After yet another call, I went direct to tech support and the guy put me on hold, came back and said they aren't allowed to do anything until the release date.
