I'm wondering, should I wait a little longer, and maybe the 32gb iphone will come out, or should I just buy a 16gb right now?

I couldn't give a horse dropping for a 32gb.......who cares?

It takes minutes to sync, I have a 32gb iPod touch and a 16gb iPhone....it's so much bloody music....it's not as if your going to watch 16gb of vid and listen to music before you get to a computer.

I have 95gb of music stored on my 160gb Classic iPod. It is always in my car, but comes with me when I travel. My 16gb iPhone holds 200 of my favorite CD's. Enough for me to have with me at all times. Unless they come out with a 120gb or 160gb iPhone, where I can have everything with me, the 32gb is just not attractive to me at all.

If you need the 32GB (I don't really see why you would, but if you do), wait until Macworld, I'm sure it will be out by then. I don't see any amazing products in the pipeline, so the 32 GB iphone and 64GB ipod touch or massive price cuts must be coming at MWSF '09. No tablet, possible AppleTV and Mac Mini Refresh, but nothing crazy = iphone refresh or update in storage or price cut.

people speculate that the new 32gb will be coming out soon, but no one knows this

the reason Apple needed to update the 2g iphone was that it was lacking 3g and a GPS chip. Apple also decided to increase the size from 4-8 to 8-16 gb.

while it seems likely that apple will release 16-32 gb models in its next release this is speculation

If you go here

http://weblogs.redeyechicago.com/iph...al-reason.html

you will see that the highest capacity nand chip being used is 16gb ( 128 gigabit )
the iphone uses 1x because it only has one slot
the Ipod touch uses 2x because it has two slots

Unless Apple redesigns its internal logic board, or a company releases a 256gigabit chip ( which currently does not exist) don't expect Apple to release a 32gb iPhone anytime soon

in other words if you need or want the iPhone just buy it now

There have been about 13072341 post on this subject.
I predict MacWorld 2009 in early January. it will be announced/released.
If it's only announced it will most likely be released in February.

iphone 32gb?

Buy 2 16gb iPhones to get 32. One for music and the other for video. Thats what I did.

1) Your link doesn't work.

2) Is this Toshiba flash chip not what the iPhone would use?

As for your link, I think apple will wait until Intel releases their 32nm chips ( seriously this topic has been beat to death) which are expected to start production in 2009.

Seriously guys, let's wait until the damn chips are produced before we start talking about when a 32gb iPhone will come out.

I have to agree here-when I COMPLETELY reload my 32 GB iPod Touch, it literally takes 2-3 HOURS. So I try not to do it too often. I can load my 80 GB Gen 5.5 HD based iPod FULL quicker than a 32 GB flash based device.

Sync times must be improved for flash based devices. This makes me wonder what happens to a MacBook Air when the hard drive nears capacity?

I really hope its MacWorld. I was mugged off my 16gb 3G by a rasta a few weeks ago... i am now using my gen1 8gb... life sucks.. just gotta get on with it... need to replace my 3g but its worth waiting til Jan....
