I had ATT setup call forwarding on my iPhone 3g right after they activated it. This way, i can keep it in the box and it will forward all my calls to a cheapy Razr, thus keeping my 3g in immaculate condition. I have had non of the problems you've describe, but I might, because I have not actually seen the phone, as it is still in the box.
and the truth has been spoken.
that's what happens when you drop the price of something...it allows all the kiddies to buy it....and we all know how little kiddies treat their "toys"....
I'm just going to throw this out there.... (also i'll disclaim that i did go through 3 2.5g iphones over the course of the first 6 months.)
Why don't you just suck it up and use your working perfectly fine brand new very sought after iphone 3g and let other people get them too.
Its the people that are returning them 6 times in 3 days that are devastating the stock at apple stores. (I'm saying yours isn't an isolated case)
Its a launch product. It should work perfectly/be manufactured perfectly... but just like 1st gen iphones they just arent.
Don't you think you'd be better off waiting a few days till they get a different batch in?
I'm not angry or blaming anybody just patiently waiting for my direct fulfillment to come in. Just figured i'd throw it out there and say that waiting a few days might benefit your gf as well as the 100's of people on apple lines.
Again.. not trying to pick fights here![]()
It was made in China and you're still alive. Be thankful.
Would anybody else pay an extra $50 if they would make it in the U.S.? Surely it has to at least save money on shipping the darn things (not to mention giving money to Americans instead of what's probably a Chinese place that pays workers nowhere near what they're worth).
User error
I will be exchanging for the 6th time for an iPhone 3G 16GB white.
But what are the odds??? Let's say if 1 in 25 iPhone is defective.. the odds of getting 6 bad iPhones in a row is 25^6 = 244140625
25 MILLIONS TO 1.
Maybe you should have a conversation with God...![]()
stop being so picky and enjoy your damn phone. clearly your way to anal about it.

Having worked for Cingular when the first razr came out...yes there are some people out there that are just that anal and it's typically the bottom feeders that won't be able to afford the service for 2 years anyways. It's a damn shame I tell ya.I hate that the price was dropped. Now every idiot who trashes their phone has one and will constantly bitch about it for the next few months. Think the RAZR had this many people THIS picky about it?
Maybe it's your gf. Can you exchange her?

how many exhanges is it going to take you to give up on this item? after 2 exchanges on any device I would have moved on to something else.I will be exchanging for the 6th time for an iPhone 3G 16GB white. Here's a list of reasons for my returns.
1. Loose ringer/switch
2. Dead pixel
3. Smudge under the screen
4. Dust under the screen
5. Backlight was going through the left side of the bezel.
6. Dust under the screen
It doesn't surprise me since it's made in China. Anyone else experienced this?
