So you think the person responsible for taking the picture should be fired?.

No not my point at all, I dont want anyone fired, its just that most of the people on here think because she is the one in the picture that she would get fired. My point is, If someone were to get fired it would be the one who TOOK the Picture. know what I am saying? :D

Because in factories everywhere else in the world all workers get ergonomic heated leather seats. .

Never said that either, I walk on concrete all day at my job and we also have wooden seats to sit in on break, I was just saying what I had observed it the picture. :D

Dell factory worker for comparison, looks like they at least let her have a fan to keep herself cool.

I think a lot of non-Asians have a hard time telling how old we are.

I'm 28 and I still get carded all the time!

This girl looks around 20.

Agreed, most of my friends are Asian....I would've guessed 18-20. However, Chinese labor laws do allow companies to hire employees at the age of 16 or above. So she's most definately of legal age to work.

I will go with option #2 :D

I shall remain calling her kiko.

Now we all can put a name to our imaginary girlfriends picture who works in china at the iphone factory  LOL

Okay, so now we have this story for her:

She was adopted by a Japanese family after her birth parents had to give her up due to the Chinese 1 child law. They named her Kiko.

Growing up, she yearned to return to her homeland. And finally at the age of 20 (or 16 or 12 :) ), she got a job in a Chinese factory testing the camera on some weird electronic gaget made for a American company.

It turns out the person taking the photo of her was her real brother born to her birth parents, who was so happy he had to take a picture of his newly discovered sister.

After emailing the photos to himself, he forgot to erase them.

What a happy story. :) :) :D

I was fascinated by the long number on the yellow tube above the head of the girl (Am I sick?). It says 2002010105010611. And that leads to a Chinese document where this number is linked to 深圳市金龙羽电缆实业发展有限公司. If you translate it, you get something like:

Shenzhen Jinlong plume cable Development Co., Ltd.

Plume? I love Google Translate.. So I stick to the Chinese characters and Googled them.

It leads me to Google Maps. Could this be the secret location of another factory for iPhones? Nokia, start the engines of your bombers!

It could also be the home town of.. a yellow tube factory:)

We should try to find her
Where is Kiko ?
Have you seen Kiko ?
Let's try to find her

and actually her real name is
iKiko

The location of the factory is no secret: it's here
Apparently these are the factory conditions: http://www.foxconn.com/Condition.html

It's quite obviously OSX being used with the iTunes software, Apple would have supplied Foxconn with a special version of OSX software that could be loaded on it's standard equipment, as Apple would require that OSX be used to load the iPhone software and Firmware. It would be unreasonable to ask Foxconn to replace all of it's equipment with Mac's for the purposes of the iPhone rollout as 8 weeks later they might be assembling something else in the same room, all they will have is a disk image for the machines which will allow them to switch the factory from one purpose to another within a few hours.

Apple would have developed the firmware and software on Mac's, so would give the OEM the necessary tools required to load the devices after the assembly, OSX does run on intel, you can run it on any windows machine with minimal effort, Foxconn would have had to sign an NDA which would prevent them from releasing it, if it got into the wild, Apple would know where it came from and wouldn't use them for assembly again.

I think she is cute too, wonder if she is single and interested in moving to the states? LOL seriously though I wish my phone came with pictures of it being manufactured maybe Apple should do this on all new phones...

David

Haha and hopefully they will add a new contact so you could find out if they are single and interested.

...I thought Apple used 8 year olds to make all iPhones? - the lady in the picture looks much too old.;)

You had me at "of legal age".....

@Wronski: found some photo's that are not hyperlinked on Foxconn's site. Here is one. I can understand why they left out this depressing corridor.

Go find the other 5! They are not in Google.
