Depends, are you getting a plan or a prepaid iphone? I was allowed to sign for a prepaid at the age of 16 with only a driver's license, or some other form of identification needed, for me it was a learner's license. Im guessing that the iphone isn't considered any different to any other prepaid iphone. Thing you'd have to look for is wether they will stock the iPhone on friday with most places lacking them.

Yeah but why would you WANT to buy prepaid for $700+ personally i wouldn't bother.

No, I'm definitely getting a plan. So do I have to be 18 to sign up for a plan for the iPhone (on optus)???

im currently on pre-paid with Vodafone with a simple Samsung flip phone but i wouldnt purchase an iPhone as its just too expensive for me atm. but if i were to get one i would probably go for the $49 business plan… but you still only get 500MB of data allowance… in the US you get unlimited :(

The more I think about it, the more I tossle the idea of signing a 2 year contract.

On the one hand Vodafone gives you more for the money and on the other Optus gives you free wifi hotspot access.

But my 1st gen works fine, excet Vodafone wont let me have data on prepaid.

I suppose low battery life should be added to the bugs section. I do not think that turning 3g off is a reasonable fix so I think that 'ticket' is still open.
