iPhone 3G died today.....wait until June or go 3GS?

Ah, the ol' drunk phone! Everyone should have one for those "high risk" situations.
 
I would say if you cannot live without your iPhone I'd see if you can pick up a used 3G for cheap. Then get the new iPhone in June and use the 3G you just got as a backup or sell it to someone else.
 
Wait! If you must have a phone now, get a cheapie. I think you will kick yourself if you end up with a 3Gs and miss out on the nifty one coming up. An extra phone is a good idea anyway, worked for me once when I had a problem.

When the HD releases 3GS prices will fall if you decide to go that way.
 
Just wait for the new one. I'm sure you can live with a POS phone for a little over a month.

Otherwise you can buy 3GS and try to sell it to recoup some of the loss, but honestly I would just wait(personally).
 
Is this even a question...break out your backup flip phone, suck it up and WAIT.

Yikes...how many times would you be kicking yourself in the butt when you're passing someone with the new iphone to their ear...knowing all you had to do was wait a few weeks.
If you need an app fix, go buy an ipod...then return it under the 30 days.

That's the perfect answer. I had to have my sim card tray replaced a few weeks ago and I couldn't use my iPhone for a few days. I definitely missed my phone during that time. I would use a dumbphone and buy an iPod Touch and return it before the 4G comes out.
 
You can always buy the 3GS now, then when the new iPhone is released, list the 3GS on eBay or Craig's List, then buy the new iPhone with the money you get for your 3GS (plus difference you will most likely have to shell out).
 
All you have to do is wait 23 days, and see what are they announcing at WWDC, its really not worth to get the 3GS now because the next one will be out in a month, just wait man dont make the mistake, its not too long.
 
Do you have apple care on the phone?

If you do, get a replacement and wait. You will not have to "deal" with a dumb phone for 1.5 months and can sell it on ebay or gift should you decide to get the new one. If you have applecare and the coverage is still good on your phone, it will not impact your eligibility to upgrade. :rolleyes:
 
dude i've gone WITHOUT a cell phone for nearly a year waiting for the new iPhone. My previous phone broke and I knew that this iphone was going to be totally different. If I can wait a year, you can surely wait a month
