iPhone 3G Generation 2 Coming?

There have been rumours that a new iPhone 3G Generation 2 is coming out in January 2009, with a list of possible features. According to MacRumous' buyer's guide, the iPhone releases an update every 5 months or so. The next one is coming up. One forum suggests that it is actually July 2008, but I think that is a typo - since it has already past.

1) The updates on macrumors are software updates.

NO NEW IPHONE AT THIS MACWORLD. Except a possible storage upgrade.


It will be more than likely now that we will see a new iPhone every summer.
 
We were wondering in a thread the other day what the next phone will be called. The article called it iPhone 3G Generation 2 which is interesting and as good a name as any I've seen. When it gets shortened, do you think it'll be the iPhone 3G 2G or the iPhone 2G 3G? :)

Yeah, this probably will come out in June/July 09.

Seems Plausible, maybe not really that realistic.

It will be called the iPhone Air. Notice the tone of absolute certainty (I'm in the know).
 
Personally, I kinda agree with the Articles' iPhone 3G 2G.

Sounds strange, but they'll keep the name. Anything else sounds completely stupid. Or they'll revert to just "iPhone".

I guess, but I think it sounds better than any other thing.

I don't know about anyone else, but I simply say iPhone when referring to my phone. No matter what the new name is, I will still call it the iPhone. :p

R2D2 or C3PO? This would make many people too happy (and one person too mad). ;)

Yeah, I thought iPhone 3G was generation 2. So what, is it the generation 2 generation 2 iPhone now? What?
 
Well, it kinda goes like this:
iPhone (Generation 1)
iPhone 3G (Generation 1)
iPhone 3G (Generation 2)

Because the announcement at the last event released the new iPods instead of the long-awaited new MacBooks, expect the January MacWorld to be solely dedicated to the new MacBooks.

This is the iPhone 3G (network) 2G (second version of the 3G hardware) G3 (3rd generation overall).

The iPhone 3G2GG3 is confirmed people!! Start saving now!
