No WiMax WTF come one
Why no WiMax? Well, it's a Sprint technology. That's TF.
As for all the naming conventions, nobody mentioned that the iPhone 3G2GG2 would be in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB models. Therefore, it's the iPhone 3G2GG28GB/16GB/32GB!
I think they'll probably drop the "3G" thing on the next udpate. The iPod Classic used to be the iPod w/video. Before, we had the iPod photo or photo iPod (I forget which). The addition of "3G" to the name was a smart marketing move so people wouldn't wonder if it was 3G or not.
, you have to consider the contract of us iPhone 1.0 users coming to an end. You also have to consider the fact some iPhone 2.0 users might want to upgrade as well as new users who waited until iPhone 3.0 to purchase (as with cars, a lot of people wait for the third model in order to ensure the bugs are worked out). That's a lot of demand. Best to release early to give people a chance to decide to get it. And to give ATT a chance to come up with some sort of schedule for upgrading to prevent a total run on the system that characterized the 2.0 release.
