iphone not charging

hi, i have an iphone 3G that has no charge and when it is plugged into mains or the PC, it just shows the sign that it needs to be plugged in to charge, as there is no battery.
the dock connector has been replaced and the charger i know is a working one, as i have other iphones that it works with. also there is not a problem with the fuse, we have checked this already
can anyone help with this problem please

thanks

Ok so I have run into this issue multiple times with both iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs. Process of elimination is as follows:

1. Try different charge cable.

2. Check to see if you 3Gs is under apples warranty and have it replaced if it is.

3. Replace battery or have it replaced.

4. Replace Bottom Dock Assembly or have it replaced.

5. Buy a new iPhone because your motherboard has got bad.

I am seeing more iPhone 3G and 3Gs motherboards randomly failing I assume due to age. It is frustrating. If you are able to repair it by replacing the battery or dock connector you are in the green. Otherwise there is not much else that can help.
