I actually like this video.
idk.
I might even wash my iPhone that way from now on.
At least I know that nothing will happen 😀

I was wondering the same.

Well the phone did keep working after almost everything... and it had more of a point to it than "will it blend." This actually gives us an idea of how tough of a device we are carrying around. Just shows how solid of a product the iPhone really is. 🙂

that video was insanely painful to watch... blasphemy against the Jesus phone!

Yes, it was VERY torturing to watch... that poor $199 piece of loveable gadget down the drain...

But will people STOP CALLING IT THE JESUS-PHONE! OR THE jPhone! OR WHATVER YOU LOT KEEP CALLING IT, QUIT IT, PUHHHH-LEEEASE!! I know, the iPhone truly is the best cell phone in the world but... really...

SuperMac(& iPhone)Man 😉

Totally true. Totally true. Yes, it is tough. Yes, it is solid.

Totally agreed.

True.

I was just agreeing because I was shocked at the lack of people who cried wolf.

I found the video quite hilarious, i thought last years test were more gruesome and the original iPhone held its own for the most part. IIRC

While washing the device he was carefully covering its edges with his palm. Otherwise the water would have spoiled the device from the connectors' holes. So, dont take this test very seriously...

As much fun it is to see how much of a beating the phone will take, i just think its a bit sick to do this sort of thing when its widely reported around the world of poor stock levels and people still waiting patiently for an upgrade or new contract phone.

I accidentally dropped my 1st gen for the last time today. The first 20 times were fine, but the hardwood floors won this morning. Big crack in the screen, but the touchscreen still works. I wasn't necessarily planning on upgrading, but I guess I will now. If 3g is as durable as the first one, I'll be quite pleased. Only I'll probably get a rubber case this time.

While slightly difficult to watch, I have to say I laughed quite a bit, especially when the iPhone was dropped in the fruit loops and then washed with soap and water, horrible but funny too.

iPhone 3G took everything I expected quite well, but the washing and running it under a sink was impressive. I'm amazed that did very little.

Considering they purchased this phone (by whatever means), they're allowed to do as they please with their belongings.

Yep...

That's actually one design improvement in the 3G model. The glass is now a separate item from the touchscreen itself. On the original models, Apple discovered almost EVERY time one came in for repair due to a cracked screen, it was only the outer glass that cracked, while the touchscreen was still functioning properly. So now you should be able to get the glass repaired a lot less expensively than on the original iPhone.

But I agree with you. The rubber "skin" type cases make a lot of sense. I just bought one for my original iPhone at Best Buy for about $12 on an "open box" special. (Looked brand new to me.... I think someone just ripped the box open partially to see what it looked like inside.)

Phones are not designed to be treated in that manner, I hate things like this because it is just silly. I am sure the Voyager from Verizon would have died much sooner.
