In addition to my previous post.

I was able to confirm today a way to save about 10 dollars on your 3G data plan.

Basically, you have an old iPhone right, or a friends
Activate your new iPhone 3G.
Put your iPhone 3G sim into the OLD iPhone
Run the Activation through iTunes as existing user.
It will ask you to accept the 2 year agreement blah blah, and select your text plan with the UNLTD Data package.

Now, the phone should activate instantly, but make take up to an hour.

Put that SIM chip back into your iPhone 3G, and you should have a data plan intended for the iPhone 2G, that will fully cover the 3G side of your new phone! And 10 dollars cheaper

Everyone get that?

I am not sure saving $10 a month is worth committing fraud.

Then he would have to carry around a phone AND an ipod AND it would cost more. This way it is cheaper and doesnt have to load his pockets or belt with phone clips.

I can attest to this. I carried around a Moto Q9H and an ipod touch. Now I have an iphone and a data plan is not necessary for me.
