we arent against you winning it lol, we are just trying to get a sense of reality into your mind.

iPhones hold their value well, someone in here sold their 3G for £260 recently, a 2 year old iPhone.

The 3GS is 1 year old, you really expect a 32gb version to only sell for £300? you need to get real!

the auction has 7 days left, people have put bids down to let others know that they are interested in this phone. They aren't going to stop bidding just because a new phone is coming out soon.

wish you luck but you need to think things through a bit more! i have no intention of bidding out of spite, im ready for the 4G ;) and already have a 32gb 3GS!

The new iPhone will be announced in 2 days and prices for the old models (3GS) will drop sharply once the new ones become available.

Which means:

People wont be interested.

Anyways we'll see in 7 days and see if you're right.

I'm thinking outside the box and I want it as 4.0 will be released on it also.

I'm new to ebay but I will prove my theory in 6 hours when no-one bids.

Yes, it will be announced in 2 days, but it won't get released (become available, as you write) until (probably) the 18th of June. (Maybe the 11th, but that's not very likely). Plus since 3GS works fine with 4.0 many people will be interested in this phone, for the same reason as you.

I'm not saying you are unable to win this auction, I'm just saying it might come up to £370 and maybe even over £400, as the other members also have been telling you.

I guess you're right, I'm bidding £300 on last second :apple::apple::apple:

Clearly you are new to the concept of an auction. Asking "Is this a reasonable price?" on a currently active auction is like asking "Will my 2 week old baby make a good president?"

If you want advice on the price of a used iPhone, search for "Buy It Now" auctions only and people will be able to give you actual advice, instead of wasting bandwidth on speculation.

*EDIT* A quick search of UK completed auctions shows that in the past 30 days, exactly 2 (TWO) 32GB 3GS iPhones in working condition have sold for £300 or less. I'd say the odds of you winning this phone at £300 are quite slim.

prices for the old models (3GS) will drop sharply once the new ones become available.

I'm guessing this will be your first iPhone, because if you had bought/sold the previous model(s), you would know that there's actually a spike in the resale value of the prior model when a new one is introduced, due to the general sticker shock of brand new unsubsidized phones, and the demand from those unable or unwilling to go on contract for various reasons.

See, So I was right?

It's not gonna go over £300 and I will win it @ £300 because in the last 30 days it was sold for £300 or less so obviously the price would of gone down from the last 30 days :D

Of course they'll be interested. I doubt many non-tech fans will even know about the new iPhone until a commercial airs.

Not exactly. Only TWO iPhones have sold for £300 in the last 30 days. He's right, you have a very small chance at winning the phone for that price.

I see, it would be helpful If I knew how many iphones have sold within the 30 days as it could of been only 2?

It's not a state secret. Search ebay completed auctions yourself. You can figure it out. You're a bit too thick headed for me to bother any more.

Indeed. I see new 3G's on eBay listed from $300 - $400. The want is still there.

The one i'm buying isn't unlocked to all networks.

No-one still hasn't bidded on it @ 600 views.

The one i'm buying isn't unlocked to all networks.

So what, it costs £15 at most to unlock an O2 iPhone (free if it is not PAYG).

And those examples are for 16GB models which are worth quite a bit less than the 32GB model that you are interested in.

You should prepare yourself for a bitter disappointment if you think you are going to get that 32GB 3GS for £300.

Thats just a 1 off, hes obviously stupid because at 550 he could of bought it new.

You really don't want me to win lol

I'm just hoping that I can win it
