Good for you to say, some of us have reasons for JB/UL, namely tethering. I do not want to be stuck at work for 9.5 hours without internet.
Why have a 3G phone if you can't use 3G like you should?
I can't use a locked iphone on this country.. it's impossible for now, I'm stuck with unlocking
That is all well and good for you, but the poster I was responding to has decided to JB/UL his phone and then complains about the jailbroken status.

Then since you have decided to make modifications to the phone to be able to use it where you live, you must accept the choice to use it with the limitations/issues caused or aggravated by Blackra1n/Blacksn0w.
Perhaps when the DevTeam finishes Redsn0w 0.9, it will offer everyone the option to JB and UL without using Blackra1n/Blacksn0w.
What often happens to me is I'll initiate or receive a call, and within seconds of that action, I'll lose all bars and the 3G will disappear. The cellular signal will reset within about 20-30secs. Once done, I have no problem making or receiving calls.
Get rid of your Blackra1n/Blacksn0w JB/UL and your phone will work as it is supposed to work !
Not true, I have a newer 3GS running 3.1.2 (tethered jailbreak) and I jaibroke/unlocked it with Blackra1n. I got the signal dropout issues with every sim I put in, 02, Virgin, Voda, 3, T-Mobile. I did a stock restore back to 3.1.2 a couple of weeks ago (after 3.1.3 came out) and even with the untouched 3.1.2 firmware, with the phone just sitting on my desk, the o2 signal regularly went from full bars to "No Service" then after a couple of minutes back to full bars.
Then I turned off 3G.
The signal has stayed rock steady ever since. When I turn 3g back on, the signal dropouts return.
Anyone else tried this "fix"?
A 3G iPhone that doesn't like a 3G network...
The only thing that I know will fix this is a DFU restore, but now with 3.1.3 your screwed. I did it right before 3.1.3 came out and did the commcen patch and its a hell of a lot more stable.
