I like the 4G design, though not the glass back. Also it seems the glass material (front/back) seems less durable then the 3Gs' I only state this because there seem to be a higher occurrence of glass shatter threads.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

I'd pick the 3GS design if it had better build quality like the iP4 and didn't come with cheap feeling plastic that gets the Apple icon scratched up like heck. I.e., rounded glass back with the Apple behind it and stainless steel bevel that's as scratch resistant as the iP4's band.

I don't get Apple's fetish with Asian women in all of their marketing ads. And the Asian woman is always talking to some dorky white dude.

Looks like someone at Apple's marketing department has a twinkie fetish?

IP4 would be great if it didn't have a glass back and had an internal antenna.

Or maybe what they really need to do is give us a 3GS+Retina model. I'd take that in a heartbeat.

Even with the bling around the rim? The chrome reminded me of the iMac G4. The iPhone 4 is far more consistent with Apple's current design trends.

3GS IS superior ALL THE WAY.
No. I can use the 4 in places the 3G/S only ever got "No Service." Iphone 4 is such an incredibly superior device. I can't believe you continue on with this in post after post after post. Put a bumper on it and stop worrying about the gap.

iPhone 4 is a bit more edgy than the 3GS. I liked the way the 3GS felt when it was in your hand. But with that being said I still think iPhone 4 is an overall better Apple product. (aside from the sporadic antenna issues) :D

I would prefer the 3GS physical Design with the features of the iPhone4 like:

Display
Faster CPU
More Memory
Better camera with Flash

But I prefer the design of the 3GS body with the screen because the glass thing is not working for me.

However I would go either way, both phones are good the i4 just has some newer features, but I guess it was like the ppl who had 3G's they didn't bother going for the 3GS, but now the i4 is much different, not sure what the new one next year will be like.

Assuming "all things equal" (retina display, processor, etc.)...

If I were picking the winner based on modern good looks, then the iPhone 4 would be the clear winner. It's sexy and sleek, looks familiar yet very different.

But if plain old durability and/or usability were the deciding factor, I'd have to go with the 3G/3GS design.

The rounded back is clearly more ergonomic, and easier to hold. While the plastic shell certainly looks cheap in comparison to the iP4, it offers much better drop protection as it will scratch/crack/deform without catastrophically disassembling itself if dropped.

Most importantly, the 3G/3GS design protected the edges of the glass screen with that same plastic shell. (this is the REAL reason there were far less reports of screen shatters on the 3G/3GS IMHO)

All this durability concern may be a non-issue for me though, as I have used protective cases and screen protectors since the very first day of owning that good 'ole 3G.

4 Design. I absolutely hated the 3G/ S design because of the sensitive plastic housing. I owned the white one, and those who owned the white one should know about the hairline cracks. As OCD as I am, that drove me NUTS! I am much more happy with the iPhone 4 design, because it is physically sturdy. Regardless of the glass back, it gives me an excuse to buy an screenshield for it. Therefore, I don't have to worry about scratches back AND front !

Where as before I worried about scratching the plastic back as well !
