Actually with the iPhone, I have upgraded my mobile phone a lot less... I purchased my first gen iPhone around fall (October I believe) last year and I am still using it today (going to upgrade to 3G version in August when I get back from Dublin)... Before the iPhone, I have used 4 phones in the span of a year...

The iPhone actually brings a halt to my phone buying habit (Thank Goodness!!!) and I haven't been more satisfied with a laptop that as much as my MBP

I think there will be a bit longer than a year before we see another one, if only because AT&T's got everyone under 2-year subsidized contracts. Doubtful they'll let everyone out for an upgrade price a year early.

At least one more release before AT&T's exclusivity is up though.

Uh, if you were willing to pay the 399/499 pricing, they would certainly extend your contract to sell you the phone for that price. Don't see why you would think they wouldn't.

The dreamer may be off, but a once per year refresh is entirely possible. We know Apple has something cooking to completely ditch the idea of alert push on the iPhone after announcing it last year.

We'll see around July when it is time for Apple to make even more billions off of us that update every year.

Yeah it's funny reading everybodys predictions. I laughed at the people who called the current iPhone "Too tacky for apple" and things like that when pictures were released on a thread in early 08. I wonder what will happen with this one! Hopefully apple will release an iPhone soon. Infact im certain they will.

Something like this has been rumoured. But i can't see it for a while... Maybe if the market grows, early next year?
