I always go for the highest capacity available. You WILL find uses for it, and the incremental cost in having the higher capacity is a better deal than going out to buy a new one when you outgrow the original one.

Holy crapp... 6 GB of apps... what apps do you have that take so much space?

or is it that you have way to many apps and you seldom or never use most of them?

Well most are games and I do play them and the others are apps to keep me on track. I'm sure there others that have more than me though:D

Especially with the new data limit plans (I'm forced to use those), I'm getting the 32gb.

Not only do I have 200gb+ of music, but I will want to take tv shows or movies with me on the go (instead of streaming them). I have just my most played music on my 8gb iPod and it's filled...I can't even put all the songs that have a 100+ playcount on there.

Exactly. Good move.

I have TONS of GBs tied up in downloaded Youtube content that I have put through RealConverter. I can definitely use the room. (I filled up a 64GB iPod touch...so I will have to make some choices.:))

It's not like a desktop computer where you can change out the hard drive for a larger one, or add external storage! You are stuck with the iPhone capacity you bought until you get a new phone.

Thats what I was thinking about a lot. I looked in my iTunes and on my iPhone 2G I have like 3 videos with a total of 15 minutes totat between the 3 of them and they are over 300MB just for that. Im thinking with the HD recording on the iPhone it will be more than that for the same time so I will opt for 32GB.

And I just thought of this but being in college, all of my lectures are recorded videos and I want to be able to put them on my iPhone to watch/listen to so Im sure they will add up quickly.

Same dilemma I am in. I finally made up my mind and will be getting a 32Gb. Just think about this since you are expecting, when your baby is experiencing one of their 1st moments, do you want to risk reaching over to the iPhone, kick up video and have be full and can't record it. Is $100 worth that? Espcially since 720p video will be eating up more storage than we are all use to, this might happen with a 16gb. That's why I wnet with a 32GB.

Getting the 16GB is like buying a Ferrari and chopping the gas tank in half so it can only go half as far.

The 32Gb is a no-brainer!

You WILL eventually need the space!

I went home today and checked on this to see what I needed. I currently have a 32GB iPhone 3GS, and right away I had 12gb of free space. Ok, so do I have some stuff I need to trim?

I have an iPad so I really won't be watching movies or shows on the iPhone when I can just pull out the iPad. Check those are gone.

I had some apps I didn't use. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown = 650 MB WTF!?!? Gone.

Checked the box for my iPhone to convert the audio to 128 kbps when transferred to the phone. 8gb+ library went to 3.7 gb. WOW.

So what am I down to? About 5-7 GB of ACTUAL used space. Meaning I would have about 7-8 gb left over on the iPhone 4 16GB for photos, HD videos, and apps. If I run low on space, clear some of it off.

SO, I was on the fence before, but now looking at REALLY how much I need or should have on my iPhone, I can say that its not worth getting the 32GB for an extra $100 when I'm simply not going to use it. Some people argue that you'll figure out a way to use it, and I simply don't think I will get to that point. I only keep apps for the time I'm using them or playing them. Once I haven't touched them for 4-5 months (games) they go to iTunes. I am concerned on how large the photos will be now from the iPhone. They could be pretty large. I saw those photos that apple released were about 8mb, but I could be wrong.

Thats exactly one of the biggest reasons that pushed me to decide on the 32GB. If the 720P videos are really good and show up good on my hi-def TV then I will probably use it for those moments and maybe hold off on getting a hi-def camcorder. My phone will always be with me and the camcorder wont. And yea I had the run out of space thing happen recently. Me and the wife went on vacation and went on a dolphin watch boat ride and when the dolphins were chasing the boat and doing all kinds of jumps out of the water I ran out of space halfway through shooting video (standard def)

I always find that buying the higher capacity model is much easier to sell when the time comes, that and the fact that I have a lot of content makes me choose the 32GB.

I'll be getting the 16 gig for sure.
Not only is it a matter of price, $100 is a lot of money for someone with part-time job, but 16gb is way more than I will need.

I have about 2-3 gigs of music on my iTunes.
I will transfer all of that.

I only have about 20-30 apps.
None of which consume that much space.

I won't transfer any photo's other than a few wallpapers.
Maybe on, two max, music videos. According to iTunes, all the videos on my iTunes add up to: 396.2 MB- so thats no big deal.

I do, though, plan on taking photo's and video but I will have well more than 10gigs left on the phone for that.
:)

To each his own! I don't like to have to constanty clear things off. I have A LOT of content I would really like to take with me...which I can't right now because I only have a 16GB 3G.

I respect your ability to make choices like that, though...Even with the 32GB, I will have to make choices...but not as great. :)

No, no I wont.

By the time I ever fill up 16gigs, iPhone 8 will be out.
And by the time iPhone 8 is out, iPhone 4 will be in some drawer somewhere in my house.

32GB for sure, I am having to be selective now on my 16GB 3G S, and that isn't fun.

Amen. I have had to remove playlists, videos, songs...and now that my 3G is almost at capacity (within a couple of hundred mb), it is slow as molasses (though I don't know if that has anything to do with it).

Anyone know about how much space HD recording will use per minute. 720P at 30fps... This is what's going to make me get a 32.

well as just an estimate a hd flip camera records 720p at 30fps and it will record 2 hours on 8gigs of space

Due to the simple fact that I have 3 beautiful children I will be goin with the 32GB in black. I would rather be safe than sorry. I have a 16GB now and don't use much space because we all know the camera on the 3GS blows so pictures are pointless unless the lighting is dead on. Now with the iPhone 4 having flash the pictures will be in abundance plus the g-rated and x-rated home videos will definitely take up space. I would rather pay the $100 now and not regret it later. Plus you can always sell your 3GS to cover the cost. If Radioshack wasn't so iffy I would just trade in my 3GS with them pay $100 for a 32GB, but they can't even guarantee an iPhone 4 if you preorder with them Tuesday.

Thats another thing I was wondering about. I didnt want to be near capacity and have my phone start running slow, if that in fact can happen.

At the time, I got the 16GB 3G because white only came in the 16GB capacity.

I should be able to afford the 32GB. I already sold my 3G to pay for the new one coming out, and I believe after all is said and done I have about 400MB free. So def gonna shoot for a 32GB if I can...which I should be able to
