Hi,

I want to see a remake of iphone 4/4S with better processor, much more ram, and maybe lighter, but with the same design and size.
IMO it's the best iphone i've seen.

What about you ?

It's definitely the design that stood the test of time. The iPhone 5 and 5s do not look much different, and many other smartphones have elements inspired from that design. I actually really like the design of the new iPhones, but I appreciate how the iPhone 4 was the iPhone that really raised the bar on design.

I have a dislike for that model series. I waited a year for Sprint to get the iPhone 5, my very first personal purchase of an iPhone because I did not want it to be the 4s.

I do not like the chrome band around the phone, I do not like it's thickness and I do not like the glass back.

I especially do not like the 4/4s when placed in an ugly neon bumper (as seems to commonly happen) or God forbid one of those God-awful fugly Otterboxes (is it still an iPhone if you can no longer tell what it is?).

I much prefer the black 2001 monolith look of my iPhone 5 (which is much thinner than the 4s by the way and bigger) and now the look of my 6 plus.

None of this is to say that I look down at anyone for their preference. We all have our own likes. I just do not like the 4/4s is all.

Best built and best looking phone ever IMO.
I loved my time with the i4 more than my i5, and much more than my 6+.

It was fantastic at the time, but I wouldn't like to see it remade. I think that would be living in the past. The iPhone 5 iterated on the design and I think it was equally as nice, especially because of how thin and light it was.

I love the rounded design on the 6, but still think the antenna bands are a bit ugly. Hopefully the 7 will be a refinement of the 6's design.

I don't know how to start conversation in this site (pleade pardon me) but can I ask if it is posible that the iphone 5s will be on discount if the next iphone launch on September 2015? I'm broke but I want to give myself a gift for my coming birthday. I'm saving money from my allowance. Hehe

I loved everything about the 4s. It looked and felt like a premium device. I'd really like to see an updated version at a sensible price.

The 4/4S are beautiful, but I didn't like the large glass back as a functional element because it could be prone to shattering.

I prefer the iPhone 5/5S physical design because it seems a bit more damage resistant, the home button is more durable, and the headphone jack is on the bottom.

No offense, but I don't understand this.

Oh, I mean, I get the nostalgia and if that's really all this is then cool. I'd love a PowerBook G5 for Godssake, but that along with a remake of the 4/4s is not ever going to happen. Apple is always "looking forward" and trying to stamp out it's past as if it never happened.

The only reason the 4/4s has survived as long as it has is because the popularity of that model is still lining Apple's coffers.

The 4 and 4S are definitely one of the best. I also like the 5, but my 4 just felt like such a high quality design.

In practical terms though the iPhone 5 I like as it doesn't have that huge crackable back glass pane. However the 5 does not feel as premium as the 4 and 4S.

No offence taken. I know the 4 size won't be coming back, but compared to the current models it was something vastly superior to anything around when it was new.
The new models look just like any one of a dozen others phones available. And certainly aren't top of the tree specs wise either.

But I can hope....

We're talking about how they were perceived at the time, or at least I am. Nobody would choose to run an i4/4S in 2015 but that doesn't detract from the fact it was a handsome, well made and powerful phone back in the day. The 'wow' factor and enjoyment in use for me was far higher than any iPhone since.

Don't get me wrong. I give credit where it's due and the 4/4s was a game changer, just like the original iPhone.

My personal dislike of the phone is just that. It's irrelevant to anyone else who likes this phone and uses it and I don't turn my nose up at anyone who likes the phone.

All, I was saying (in my second post) is that Apple is done with the 4/4s. Just like they were done a long time ago with PowerPC Macs.

Do people still use and like the 4/4s? Yes. Do people still use and like other Apple products that Apple would rather forget about? Yes. And if it works for you then great! I'm still using PowerPC Macs by choice because they work for me. In 2015.

But Apple is highly unlikely to revisit a redesign of any of it's older tech. They are however, very likely to give a nod to older tech in the design of newer tech. That technique is profitable to them and they know it.

I understand the popularity of the 4/4S, but IMO the 5 series is better designed. I look at the 5 series as what the 4/4S could have been. Let's face it  waited too long to go to a "larger" screen.

Just as I look at the 6 series as what the 5/5s should have been.

I personally believe  should have bumped the screen size up with the iPhone 4 if not then definitely with the 4s... I'm one to believe they should have scrapped the S series with the 4S and came out with the 5 in 2011 with a larger screen and went from there. Of course they finally went bigger in 2012, but in 2013 that screen wasn't big enough which is where the problem lies with the S series of iPhones.  could be on 5.1" screens right now and less bezels. I like my iPhone 6, but it could definitely be more by now had they just stopped the S series...

Just saying... iPhone 4 3.5", iPhone 5 4", iPhone 6 4.3" or 4.7", iPhone 7 would be in 2014 could have been 4.7" or 5.1".... Then iPhone 8 in 2015.... Of course I don't work at  and we all know they make boatloads of money by doing this the way they do...

However the S series should have been scrapped by now....

Lucky they didn't do it that way. Not all of us like large phones. Large is not always equal to better. They should have just offered a full range of phones in 2012/2013 (4,4.7 and 5.5).

The 5 better design thing is better in some ways... The 4 and 4S had more breakable glass, but the 5 feels cheaper.

If the iPhone 5 would have had a large screen, the iPhone 6 would have looked like a boring update. I suspect their sales would have been much different as well. Plus, it would have been a pain for developers if the screen size changed very year.

The "S" series is an unusual strategy that works wonders for Apple's bottom line, but it's a strategy that is very tough to imitate. Whenever a competitor releases a phone that looks even somewhat similar to the previous one, many people react negatively, much more if it looks the same (like the HTC One M9). But I agree, the iPhone would have advanced more in terms of design if the "S" series did not exist.

And I agree with you that not everyone wants larger phones. I understand that, but soon unless  release an iPhone "mini" or they keep the "C" line the smaller phones will be gone. There is a market for smaller screened smartphones. However if iPhone 6 sales prove anything ... It's that the market for smaller screened smartphones is smaller then people think...

I'm not necessarily saying change screen size every year... The main point was that the iPhone should have went larger in 2011 not 2012. If anything the 2012 phone could have stayed 4", but the 2013 phone should have most definitely went larger... However with 's tick tock upgrade cycle that was not possible.

I completely agree that this tick tock stuff works for them... However eventually even  customers including myself gets smart... Just as this year idk as of yet that I am upgrading to the 6s... This time last year with my 5S I was 100% sure I was upgrading to the 6... I also realize that I am just one person with 3 lines ... I realize that makes not a huge difference... I also realize that come September I will most
Likely change my mind, but the thing is that not upgrading has crossed my mind for once.

Oh, I get you! I also think that if the iPhone 5 would have been released in 2011 (which would have made sense because it took 16 months and not the usual 12), then the iPhone from 2013 could have better competed with the larger-displayed phones from that year.

Yeah, there's something about being able to fully appreciate all of the features you get in one package if you wait a couple of years to upgrade. That's probably one of the reasons why they stick to the "S" releases, since it makes sense for the people who are on 2-year contracts.

Well we have to wait and see what iPhone upgraders do. I believe that Apple said the iPhone 6 had been hugely popular with android switchers. Wait till iPhone users start upgrading to see where the demand is as current users may prefer the smaller screen more.

In the end the larger group Apple caters for, the more product they can sell.

I loved the 4/4S design. The 4S was definitely my favourite iPhone.

I wouldn't want a remake though, that would be living in the past. But I absolutely loved and adored that phone.

By far one of the best phones I ever owned.

While the 4/4S were good phones there is little demand for the smaller screen. There are some who love it but the 5/5S screen size is going to be Apple smallest screen going forward for now.
