I put on a SGP screen protector and you cannot tell it's there. It's very clear and smooth

I put a Zagg one on the back and tried the front... It looked terrible. It ruined the screen so I took it off. The back came with a defect so I emailed CS for a replacement. I may just ask for my money back and try a different brand.

I had that problem with the 3Gs, the screen protector just made it 'sticky'. But then I found this mirror screen protector, when your screen is on it is normal but when the screen is off it is like the front of your phone is a mirror. I couldn't of been happier and have had it on my phone for about a year now.

Edit: Does anyone know if the mirror screen protector has been made for iPhone 4? I would love to get one when I upgrade my 3Gs.

yea i think it was amazon that i saw it on, it had a full mirror case and mirror screen protector..

i'm going to put a clear one on mine while i wait for the privacy one to be released, i hate the idea of everyone being able to see what i'm doing, I didn't realize everyone could see it until one day I was doing something and the person across from me commented on it and at that point i decided i wanted the 4-way privacy screen cause it's not anyone's business what I'm doing..

I'm not really doing anything crazy or confidential on my phone I just don't like the idea that anyone can just glance and see what I'm doing

Which SGP protector did you get? I may try that one...

Well I've just yanked the screen protector off anyway, lets see how long it takes for me to scratch it lol

It would be silly to put any sort of screen protector on this screen. It will diminish the visual quality of the retina display. Just be careful and don't keep the phone in the same pocket as your keys and you will be fine. Not sure how careless or paranoid a lot of you iphone users are that feel the need for one. I have never had one on any of my phones and none of them have ever has scratched screens.

I have SGP ultra clear and seriously I can't tell it's on compared to my wifes iphone 4 without protector. I tried the no screen protector route until I got my first good scratch on front glass of my iPhone 4. I got it replaced for $159 and now will only put screen protectors on. Learned my lesson the hard way.

I agree! It will diminish the visual quality of the retina display.

I purchased an ifrogz case which has been wonderful and a pack of 3 shiled protectors. which all bubbled up. Granted that I've been installing theses for years and very experienced. When I took them back as they were larger than the phone and defective, AT&T would not refund nor exchange.

As my 1st gen iphone I will not be installing a shield. it looks and feels better.
I never scratched my 1st gen. the others I did put shield on. Not now. It looks great, plus I get the full retina display advantage. It looks amazing, so i will not be covering the screen.

Thanks :D
I will check it out even though by the time I upgrade to iPhone 4 I suspect there will be other options available.

I know what you mean about not liking people being able to see what you are
doing, that was another added bonus with the mirror screen, if you are at an angle you will just see it as a mirror.

deffo need a screen protector. my front screen scratched and not happy at all -.-(am going to apple store to get it replaced). my 3G had no scratches on the front screen at all for 2 yrs. So highly advised.

any luck get it replaced?

Zagg protector

I've had the Zagg screen protectors on for a week and they are great. As it says in instructions, give it 24 to 48 hours for plastic to 'set' and the juddery feel goes and it works great and so easy to clean and very invisible

I got the Invisible shield and cannot stand the feel of it. I had the powersupport anti-glare on my 3GS and loved it. Powersupport isn't coming out with their iPhone 4 protectors till the end of this month. Meanwhile I ordered the anti-glare from griffin. Hopefully it will give me some relief to the feel of the invisible shield. I do plan on keeping the back on it, it gives it some traction.

I did the same thing. IS front and back, really don't like how it looks or feels. I pre-ordred the PowerSupport Crystal - will be swapping my skins as soon as I am able.

Will put this phone in a Otterbox when it finally goes for sale.

I bought a zagg my self and i did an excellent good job installing it. no bubbles, no nothing. perfect fit. let it set for 24 hrs.
i am a first time iPhone owner ( I have an iPhone 4), and I take care of it more than I do my kidz.
I take it out of my front pocket one day, and what do I see? The back protector has slipped half way out and at the same time picked up dust and fibers.
Why did it slipped off? It had been more than 3 weeks since installation.
I thought maybe I did not installed correctly, so I asked for a replacement.
Second zagg protector, now the front protector slips out. i was so mad.
I realized this is a flawed product. I noticed this shield easily stretches and slips out of the screen when little pressure is applied. I will not buy another zagg.

The good quality clear protectors from Powersupport and Steinhill do not reduce the clarity of the display at ALL, not even a little, the only way you can tell they're on is the cutouts. The anti glares are a different story. The Steinhill oleo I have on is completely clear, and feels just like the glass, if you doubt this, then try it, you'll be surprised. And, you'll also not end up heartbroken with a scratch on your screen.

I had the same question 2 years ago. I now have the answer. My 3G screen is in perfect condition after 2 years with an Incase Slider case and no screen protector. The case keeps the screen off the surface when I put it down, and I don't let the phone mingle with hard objects like keys. To clean, I breathe on the screen and wipe it off with my shirt.

I used to use a screen protector on my Palm devices because the screens were softer. Without one, the stylus eventually would scratch the Graffiti area. But the glass screens on the iPhones are a lot harder and your fingers much softer.

So 2 years ago I thought a few scratches were worth it to use the screen at its full potential. Now that I have not a single scratch after 2 years on the 3G, I am not about to put a player of plastic on this beautiful screen of the IP4. The screen was the top reasons I chose it.
