You picked the wrong place to be if you're looking for "all serious, all helpful, all the time." The internet, I mean, not just MacRumors.

I think the option is to get a case - the free Apple Bumper will lift the back away from most scratchable surface items, or the other, IMO less palatable free offerings cover the back - or just be more careful with it and deal with the scratches you have. In time, there will be nicer cases, I'm sure.
