what's the return policy? 14 days? if so you have a few days to troubleshoot it yourself. drain the battery all the way down an charge it to 100%. do this a couple of times and see if it helps any? Lower brightness, close safari pages, ect.

The ony apps that I use outside of the original iOS ones are like scrabble, doodle jump, flight control, doodle fit, flick golf, mega jump, slice it, the weather channel, facebook, 360 live, soundhoud, fox news, scorecenter espn, IMDb

FaceBook is the problem. I believe it stays running in the background and polls its servers to see what vanity your associates have put up. Apple's "multi-tasking" really sucks in this regard. It's impossible to distinguish between what apps are actually running and which are actually closed with no option to enforce no backgrounding.

I never kill all of the apps in background before go to sleep including the likes of facebook, whatsapp, ym, etc and I even use it as an ipod when sleeping, never lose more than 7% in the morning

Yeah.. i would recommend closing all apps..It sounds like you had a funky app screwing up.. Maybe it didnt close properly.. But it also sounds like its a GPS app.. Have you been using any app that uses GPS??

Im my ATT iphone 4.. I can go to bed with 20%, wake up with 19%..

Full charge before went to bed. Wake up usually around 6am and find the battery only goes down about 5-7% max.

Well, after apple support had me hard reset and reset network settings and I did close out some of the apps.

I dropped from 54-38% last night. I guess its better? No GPS apps are running.

But I also haven't charged it in over a day since the original 58% drop over night.

I have been having some battery issues as well. It's been draining pretty fast just from a little bit of internet usage and a couple YouTube videos. When should I try the hard reset?

EDIT-I have had 4-5 bars everywhere I have gone since getting my phone. I did have an app that was trying to install but I had to connect to wifi cause it was over 20mb. I didn't connect to wifi for awhile and thought that was maybe the issue. But it still seems to be draining pretty fast.

Why would Wifi kill it? Also, if its in standby and I turn it back on I see that 3G kicked in and then wifi comes back on
Why would WiFi kill it? I wonder what uses the most fuel...leaving the engine running in your car over night, or turning your engine off? Fact is, with WiFi on, it is constantly listening for network traffic, so it uses more power than having no WiFi at all. Simple really.

Clearly you do not understand what I said. WiFi is only on when the screen is on, then 3G kicks in when its in standby. And from what I've heard WiFi uses less power than 3G

Ugh the Verizon iPhone noobs that dont know what theyre talking about. Its not the wifi and its not the apps running in the background. None of that would cause that much battery drain unless you were streaming pandora or something. Ive left Skype/Facebook on all night before and the battery barely drained.

Do what th rep told u, if that doesnt work take it to the Apple Store and get a replacement.

Yeah I think there is something wrong, I drained the battery completely last night and charged it to 100%. Then did a hard reset this morning, but the battery dropped 2% from reading 2 articles. Should I go to Verizon or the Apple store?

Put it in Airplane mode before you go to sleep and see if that helps. If it doesn't drain, then some app or push is calling E.T. while you are dreaming.

Having skype installed or using exchange accounts for email / contacts/ calendars have caused this to happen to my iPhone.

Do you notice if the usage time is really high, like close to the total standby time. Mine used to be almost 1:1 when I woke up.

Try rebooting the phone right before bed and then don't launch anything before you wake up. May be an app thats getting left "on" and not closing out properly.

I have 2 hours and 9 minutes of usage time and my battery is at 70%. It's mainly wifi but when it's not wifi, I have 4-5 bars of service.

Part of me was freaking out because the percentage drops pretty fast, but if I just focus on the battery icon, it doesn't look that bad. Am I just freaking out or should I have more battery left with that amount of usage?

My standby time and usage time has been the same, and I've been noticing higher battery drain than normal. I started closing apps one-at-a-time and narrowed it down to The Weather Channel app. It wasn't closing properly.

Goodbye TWC and hello MyCast.
