what are your settings to get that much usage? Most I ever got was 6 hours, 30ish minutes

I normally get between 5-8 hours of usage.

My settings are:
50% brightness with auto brightness on
Bluetooth off
Two Microsoft exchange email servers. Probably getting at least 20-30 emails a day.
Push notification on for the majority of my apps.
WiFi always on
Location services always on

Uhh what else would you like to know? That's all I can think of so far.

I killed off my automatic push as well as notifications and so far, getting much better battery life. I'm on my 2nd day with the Verizon iPhone so further charge cycles will seem to help out. I will be reporting further on this issue as it proceeds ;)

The battery will improve after a week or two of using it and going through a few charge cycles.

There's an app on the appstore called System Manager Lite that will do a better charge to 100% if you leave it running - also very good for clearing apps out of memory.

I like how you fail to mention the single most important battery killer: 3G.

I thought it was just common sense that 3G would be on. I never turn it off. Edge is slow and crappy.

With Edge I'd probably get double to triple the usage.

I got some results for how my battery life has been for the past 2 weeks with 50% brightness, and it's slightly better than how it was at 100%.

Today has been the first day that I'm trying it with 1% (the brightness slider is all the way down!).

And for now, I'm surprised with the results:

Usage: 2 Hours, 27 Minutes
Standby: 12 Hours, 0 Minutes
Battery: 69%!!!!

At this rate, my phone can probably last about 48 hours of Standby.

But I know why the battery life is so great...it's cause I'm hardly using my phone.

The screen is just wayy too dark to enjoy any of the apps, and the auto-brightness hasn't made the screen brighter/darker. It's just been super dark the entire time!

I'm trying to find the right amount of brightness for the phone, so I can enjoy it the entire day.

Ideally, I would love the brightness to be at 100%, with 8 Hours of Usage, and 20 hours of Standby.

Sadly, the best results I've gotten with 100% brightness, is 8 Hours, 11 minutes of Usage, and 13 Hours, 57 minutes of Standby, before the phone died.

If only I was able to get another 5 hours of Standby, it would have been perfect.

Has anyone tried using the phone with 1% brightness? It's ridiculously horrible. :/

The amount of stress that you're putting on your eyes is huge. That's actually really bad for you. You should always keep it at a level that's comfortable to see, not too bright, and not too dark.

Your eyes have to last forever. The phone is only going to be around until you get a new one. Which I'll assume will be between one and three years.

You're right. I just bumped it to 100% Brightness, and man, it looks amazing.

Anyway, today will be the last day I'm taking down stats for my battery life. Here is what I've been getting since March 6th.

^I guess if you want amazing battery life, the screen's brightness has to be all the way down, but it takes the fun out of actually using the phone. So yeah, 100% brightness from here on out. :)

My brightness is at 50% with auto brightness off...that way thre screen is far brighter while still not hurting your battery left.

yesterday i had

6 hours usage

1 day, 20 hours standby

so pretty good

last week I had close to 8 hours usage where normally when i had brightness on 80% i barely got 5 hours

The Verizon iPhone seems to drain much faster than the AT&T one. I just switched to Verizon and just restored my phone from my iPhone backup and over night my battery drained like 40% without me even touching it. I do have two email accounts enabled with push, like I did with my AT&T one but that one would only drop between 10-20% over night. I'm hoping it does get better with more cycles, but 40% seems a bit high.

Is there anyone who has switched from the At&t iPhone to the Verizon iPhone?
If so, do you notice a difference battery life? In my experience I am noticing that the Verizon iPhone battery drains faster than the At&t.
