Okay. The SAME people who marvel at the refined sleekness of a MacBook Pro wrap their iPhone 4 in cheap, thick, ugly rubber?

Panasonic ToughBook

Double standard much?

My brother is an architect and they are using a few of these ToughBooks. They survive a nuclear attack. Put your MBP in the dust of a construction site and it will overheat and fail in an hour. A ToughBook is excellent at what it does - it's sturdy and reliable.

I may have mentioned this before, so my apologies if I have. I used to use cases from a company in Brazil, "Vaja Cases", when I has a Motorola RAZR. They make amazing, high quality leather cases for just about every mobile device on the market with full grain customizable leather in various case designs and styles. Only mentioning this as I've never had to use a case for my previous iPhones, but if this signal issue persists, I recommend checking them out, as will I. Their iPhone cases will be released soon.

I've checked out the 3 soon-to-come cases. Assuming you will be purchasing one of the three, which one would you get, and why? Is there really that much of a difference between the $49.99 one vs the $19.99 to justify a $30 gap? (I've never had an Otterbox case, btw.)

I have the OtterBox Defender because I'm a klutz who doesn't like having to worry - - I've dropped it hard 4 times in the first year. I've thought about getting getting one of the other OtterBox cases (which came out after I bought mine), but am happy enough to ride out the second year of my 3GS and get a new OtterBox when I upgrade to the iPhone 5 next summer. The Defender is bombproof.

If I had it to do over again, I would have seriously considered the OtterBox Commuter, because it's lighter and even more significantly has the polycarbonate layer on the outside, which I believe would make it much easier to slide in and out of my pocket than the Defender which has the silicone layer on the outside.

That's how I feel. Funny how Apple is almost making it a requirement due to the reception problems. A rubber coating on the outside should be part of the design. I've been saying this since the beginning.
Don't worry, it will be a new feature of iPhone 5 and the WWDC audience will once again ooh and ahh over such basic design functionality.

You think it costs fifteen cents to make small precisely shaped/engraved metal buttons?

No, actually, fifteen cents may be a little high for these little pieces of nothing made in China. Maybe 10-12 cents wholesale, I'm estimating.

HEY!

If anyone can get that BMW motorsport logo in the correct resolution for the retina screen please PM me with it!!

Wow, that's cool protection), used to be sorry to scratch the phone, but now will have to be carefully protected :D.
Although for people who work in construction or just all the time now and then dropping the phone this device will be a real treasure.

good place to find covers

i found a bunch of good iphone covers at iphone4-bumpers.com.

i bought one to fix my reception, hope it works. haha

Has anybody pre-ordered the Grove Bamboo case? I am very interested in purchasing it and I would love to get some feedback from an actual buyer when they receive theirs.

Screw protection, the bamboo cases are awesome!

That's the way I feel, haha. I ordered Birdland awhile ago. It has an absolutely gorgeous design. I'm going to get the Otterbox Commuter, too, for when I go places that involve a higher risk of my phone being damaged.

I have four bumpers, IvySkin Reception Case, Speck Candyshell, & a few cheap eBay cases, but none of them are really doing it for me. I love the Bumpers, but sometimes I'm worried I'll drop my phone & the screen won't survive.
