I have just experienced this first hand. I was sitting on my sofa, just wearing loose cotton pyjamas, when i touched my iphone it gave me a painful shock. This problem has not abated yet, this is not a discharge of static as if I touch my phone again it continues to shock me. This is a continuous, mild but painful shock. Taking my phone to the genius bar to see what's what.

You're all being too harsh

The emphasis was on the fact he was wearing rings. Didn't you know iPhone 4 knows when you were jewellery so it can know when to conduct electricity round the aluminium steel frame? I think it was the 'one last thing' feature when it was announced.

Be sure to wear your pajamas. And post pics of course. :D

Yup, because one guy supposedly experienced this phenomenon on a phone that's been out for over a year and not other iPhone owners have been reporting this to any level of credibility. Makes perfect sense to believe this.

i am charging my new iphone 4 right now on my bed when i lent on it, it gave me a very little shock but if i touch it with both hands it doesnt. I might stick my tongue on it just for a laugh soon to see what happens.:D

The iPhone Can Give You A Shock

I bought an iPhone 4s about a month ago and have noticed every time I have it in my purse and I'm pushing a shopping cart in the grocery store (or Walmart or Target, etc.), I start receiving shocks to my hands. Have decided to start leaving it in the car when I go shopping and I anticipate using a shopping cart.

I have managed to shock myself with my iphone a few times.
I have a habit of tapping my bottom lip, at work I do this with a pen, but at home a couple of times I have tapped my ip4 on my lip whilst plugged in and shocked myself. I believe it is only on the headphone jack and when my list is moist.
I have not complained or anything as I believe this is my own stupidity and apple did not intend for it to be used this way.

I got a static electricity shock while about to pick up my iPhone 4S. I have to admit, it did feel stronger then other static electricity shocks I've felt.

I'm not sure if it had headphones connected or connected to the USB adapter. I frankly don't remember, and didn't make a big deal about. (Well maybe the first few seconds and told co-workers sitting next tome) And they didn't care lol

I got a nasty shock off my 4s a week or two back. It's just static electricity zapping into the steel frame and into the charger so far as I can tell, and I was well loaded up with static just then - I was getting into bed, the room was dark, and as I put my fleece sweater down I saw a load of sparks as my hand brushed it. Then I went to check my alarm was set on the iPhone and got a nice shock.
