Mine went dead too just now. Was in Godfinger and bam, dead. Won't power on unless plugged and DFU mode fails with same errors.

Going to go to apple store in hope they have one to give me cause I got no phone and I use this for work stuff like alerts for servers.

Update on my issue. Had an Appt with Apple tonight and they replaced it without much of an issue. The guy came from the back with a brand new 4 in a black box. Once opened, it contained only a the phone, no cords or paperwork. I assume these are special stock for replacements only.

New phone is working great, lets hope it stays that way.

Ugh. My phone just got this black screen of death problem. I put it into restore mode and now I am getting "error 1600", and I am unable to restore.

Trying to do more research as to what to do next, so I'm posting to a few threads.

I tried to restore my iPhone 4 on my MBP and got the same issue. I got it to restore by using my old HP computer.

Try rebooting your computer than restore again.

Same issue - music player

Hello. I've had the same issue. The phone just dies and I have to press the power and home button several times before it turns back on.

Since I play music 24/7, even during sleep, I never noticed this shutdown. It was only during the few times I turn off music that this happens. Basically a few minutes after pausing music.

I wonder why this is happening and to how many people.
