Bull...loney excuses.

* LTE is spotty on 5, but non-existent on 4. Excuse fail.
* Apps are still letterboxed. Um, this will change soon as developers catch up. DUH! Excuse fail.
* No jailbreak available. Which also will change very soon, I'm sure. Yet another excuse fail.

No it's not a lonely excuse. It's quite logical actually

* LTE is spotty on 5, it's going to be spread better next year when 5S or 6 released. i guess you happy being a :apple: guinea pig then.
* Yes, iPhone 5 is the first to have 16:9. Thus many apps still letterboxed, it's going to be a lot better and faster by next iteration iPhone. Things will catch up, wide screen apps will be improved on a FASTER and better iPhone next year. Again, you must be happy being a guinea pig.
* I don't do jailbreak. Doesn't matter to me. Thank you.

Oh yes, one more thing .. enjoy having a scarce availability of Lightning dock and accessories. Guess it'll be better next year and next iPhone. :D

I didnt keep the 5 because LTE is spotty, apps are still letterboxed, scuff marks galore, and no jailbreak available. I'll simply wait for the 5s when these things are fixed.

So most everyone knew this before they ordered the phone. Why rush to be one of the first to own it... The addressed letter icing in the keynote, LTE coverage is known, and we knew there would be no jailbreak for a while. The scuff situation isn't on all phone and maybe possibly solved. Sounds like you were looking to be disappointed.

Fixed the lightning issue and bought an extra cable. Now I have one in my house and one in my car. When they make an adaptor for my clock radio.. That will be great. Til then... That's no reason to return my lovely new phone!

Only in few places you can achieve maximum LTE speeds. In most places experience is very much comparable to 4S speeds. I have over 5mbits on my iPhone 4S and honestly there's no need for faster speeds on a phone. It's not a computer that needs ultra fast internet to download 5gb+ media.

Agreed. Not to mention many movies will still be viewed letterboxed on iPhone 5.

I agree with thread starter that iPhone 4/4S is more durable, more solid and better materials built. iPhone 5 looks great on pictures, but feels cheap and plastycky in hand. And it's extremely prone to scratches and paint scuffs.

It's slate gray aluminum and tempered glass. Lighter doesn't necessarily mean cheap or "plasticky", as for scratches, I always use a case, but I suppose if I didn't, that might annoy me, but really only very slightly. The fact is, as smooth, fast and powerful as the 4s was, and it had a very nice screen too, the 5 is significantly better. The lighter weight to me, is an indication of quality, not a lack thereof. To each their own. :)

Plus, I get a bigger screen, way more power and speed in a thinner, lighter form, but with MUCH better battery life. What's not to like? :)

The speed/power, light weight, the aluminum and glass, and that great long lasting battery all combine to give me a feeling I'm holding an extremely high quality device in my hand.

I think it's too early to say that it's high quality. Time will tell. I'm not saying that it's not high quality, I'm just saying its a little too early. Let's give the iP5 an evaluation 10 months to a year after release. Then we will see how they have faired...

They are only two weeks old.

Again I am not saying that the 5 isn't quality. But since it's a redesign, I think we should wait it out and see...

Even though some of what you said was clearly delusional, if you're not happy with the phone return it. Certainly no need to come onto a forum and tell every one about it. So much drama on this forum.

Actually the iphone 5 is more durable...A heavier phone may "feel" like it, and there are times heavier may mean more durable, but not in the case of the iphone5...A solid alloy unibody of the Iphone 5 vs glass/w alloy center...It doesn't take a degree in particle physics to figure out which one is stronger...The iphone4 is a solid phone, but the iphone 5 has surpassed it in quality..It may not seem like it with all the threads complaining, but out of millions sold the majority are flawless...Just as our black was....And LTE has been blazing fast on our phone...

I think if it wasn't for the issues i mentioned above, I would have kept it, or got a replacement, and then sold the 4 on ebay.

don't you find the volume buttons hard to press? and the home button too loud and clicky?

anyway, apart from that, and the sharp feel - it is definitely improved in terms of screen and speakers

i might order the new ear pods, they were good

No.
No.
I don't find it sharp at all. If you find that sharp I shudder to see how you'd feel about the MacBook's unibody edge:eek:

>4S is more durable, more solid
WAT? You can drop the iPhone 5 from 2 storeys and it survives. You can even BOIL it and have it survive Try that with a 4S... you'll be a little upset.
>iPhone 5 feels cheap and plasticky in hand
Again... WAT? Have you held the same phone that I own? It feels ******** BEAUTIFUL and studiously engineered.

The other guy is right. Close your eyes and pick up the 5. It may as well be a cheap Samsung. They made is too flimsy.

Good thing it is durable though because I drop my phone from 2 storeys high all the time. One time, I mistook my phone for a lobster and boiled it too. Good to know the 5 will survive that. Lmao.

For those who are doing a full refund, which i plan to do, upgrading (my 64gb model is not in stock before my 30 days is up) what happens with your carrier phone plan? How would i use my iphone 4 again in the mean time?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I'd rather my phone last a drop from 2 storeys than breaking entirely from 4 feet. I entirely disagree with your opinion about it feeling cheap, and it is the opposite of being flimsy... Like I said, a phone that survives a 2 storey drop cannot by definition be flimsy

I sent it back earlier today, now have the choice of a replacement in white or black or a refund, but think I will refund and just stick with the 4 for now

I have a galaxy note also, which would be good but I think the android os is terrible with the occasional lag and the design thats like something from the 70's

if apple would allow a couple of widgets and a box to transfer any type of file drag and drop between computers I think it would be the perfect mobile os

:D

Going back to the topic, if your iPhone 5 was really like that you should return it and ask for a replacement. Because it's not normal.

My home button is not clicky at all; it's incredibly quiet compared to the one on my 4S. I really think it depends on what phone you get/line they came from. Apple definitely should do a little better to get more uniformity across their phones though...

I also noticed that my iPhone 5 home button doesn't feel or sound as clicky as my 4. You think that this is normal then? Doesn't seem to feel as sturdy, I guess?

The 4 is going to feel agonizingly slow if you've gotten used to the 4S or 5. Maybe I'm lucky but I haven't seen any build quality issues in any of the 5 iPhone 5's I've purchased.
