Michigan here. Same thing. Took it to Apple today and they blamed high network traffic. I believe it in part but the other day my wife was cruising along on her 3GS and I had nothing. They wouldn't replace it for that but they would for the green blob on the camera. Had to order the replacement though. Debating if I should try it or if it could be worse.

Just a thought or something to try. I went in to settings>General>Locations Services Check and see if Location is toggled on and if so toggle on safari if not already. Did so and it may be just me but my connection speed up a bit. Also try and toggle airplane mode a few times to refresh the network connection.

Please let me know if this helps anyone.

I tried a hard reboot, network reset and even removed the SIM with no results. My wife's 3GS tests were normal...
Not sure of what to think now? I am going to wait and see I guess (I am using WIFI to submit this post)

Threads like this one truly make me consider canceling my iPhone 4 pre-order. :/

What's being described here is old news. It happened on my iPhone 3GS, on the iPad 3G, and now on the iPhone 4. It's not necessarily the iPhone's fault. It could be AT&T's. Bars, schmars. We need a utility that shows the GSM voice signal strength separate from the EDGE and 3G data signal.

I just experienced this downtown. I had full bars and 3G and absolutely nothing would load, although it pretended to be working. As soon as I walked a few streets out of the center of town, it started working again.

It appears to be an On and Off issue but of more NOT working.

I tried this, Does NOT work. Thanks for trying

Agree that this seems to be an on and off again issue. One sec. I am good the next bad. Anyone try a restore?

How long has this been an issue for everyone? I think mine started doing this yesterday afternoon.

Going to try and get a new sim in the am. Really doubt it will help but will try about anything. Sucks that my wifes 3g is faster than my 4. Go figure.

I am in West Michigan and have noticed the issue on my iPhone 4 last night, still having the issue too.

Tried that too. AND still didn't work.

I'm in Kansas City and am having the exact same problems as everyone else. Nothing will load, apps, web pages, etc just sit and try to load until they time out. My wifes 3GS isn't having any problems at all.

You have it out for me. Shut me down every chance you get. JK:D. Frustrating for sure. Hoping it is all a dream and will wake up in the am and everything will be fine.

lol, I hear you. Trust me, I wish I tried something that you haven't yet. I'm actually speaking with an online tech support right now but still not getting anywhere. Argh!!! I'm hoping it's b/c of a lot of people are using the new iPhone 4. I think it might have something to do with the MicroSim card as oppose to the regular Sim cards in the iPhone 3G 3GS

I just tipped both engadget and BGR.....let's see what happens ! I encourage you guys to do the same

Try pushing them with this info and see what you get.

I'm having the same issues here in Salt Lake City. Full bars, but nothing. 3G was brutally slow with my 3GS right before i got the iPhone 4 too. I turned the 3G switch off the iPhone 4 and I have no problems. Edge is faster here, which is crazy.

I've a couple of dropped calls already. It is getting really frustrating.
