With the WWDC 2010 keynote address now over, users are beginning to get their hands on Apple's new iPhone 4, and hands-on reviews and first impressions are beginning to trickle in.

Engadget posts a number of photos of the new device, as well as a video showing the new FaceTime video calling feature in action.
Some takeaways about the device:

- As we said, it's shockingly thin.
- The screen is truly outrageous -- you basically cannot see pixels on it. We're not being hyperbolic when we say it's easily the best looking mobile phone screen we've ever laid eyes on.
- The build quality is really solid. The home button feels much snappier, and on the whole it just feel like a tightly-packed device, but it's not heavy.
- The side buttons are really nice and clicky.
- iOS 4 is very familiar -- there's not a lot added to fit and finish.
Ars Technica also has a number of photos and notes the new iPhone "feels good in the hand" and is very speedy, on par with the iPad as a first impression.

The iPhone's 960 x 640 Retina display has predictably been garnering quite a bit of attention, with Daring Fireball's John Gruber noting that it "looks insane in person" and gdgt's Ryan Block "in complete awe" over the "unbelievable" screen.

Recombu has also posted another nice photo gallery showing off the Apple's latest and greatest iPhone.

Despite my misgivings towards iMovie, I will be buying iPhone 4 just because Apple finally got it right. :)

WiFi or WiFi+3G

So, FaceTime only works on WiFi, but Calls only work on the Cellular Network. If I'm in a remote location that has internet (wifi) but out of Cell coverage, am I to understand that FaceTime will not work?

I am excited for the release...I'll be trying to get the white one...just because it's a bit different.

If only they'd made it 3.7 inches. Right that's my one whine for today. :D Otherwise, even in photos the screen looks incredible, although I wonder how much of that is down to the IPS display and high contrast ratio rather than the resolution.

Photos of the white ones look really good.

I might be going white this time around. :)

Can't wait to see the screen in person.

Apple disappoints once again.

No 64GB option.
No price drop.
Wifi only and iPhone to iPhone only video chat.
Virtually identical to the Gizmodo leak that 1000s of people here hated.

A good phone but outclassed by the Evo 4G in almost every way. Screen does seem impressive though,

Did anyone figure out what that "reflective stripe" above the earpiece is?

T.

Well well well -- win!

Looks like they did it right again. Stock price should be good.

I remember working with screens like this one triple projection units that were stationary. Nice to see it on a mobile device. I'm curious to see how the daylight readability of this screen is going to be.

Looks like they traded off the curved back for a thinner display. It reminds me a bit of the old Handspring Visor Edge in style. Again, Jeff was way ahead of his time.

Yes, I'll be getting one before the end of the month. This is going to be another fun run!

Easy fix. Don't buy it.

And why do you even post here?
