What's with Apple fans and word "snappy"? I've never seen it being used in such frequency by anyone else.

Why would the front camera be on when you're on the home screen? Would be pretty wasteful. It's more than likely to allow for the proximity sensors.
I'm wondering the same thing. They are not on the black at all. hmmm

Think it is for the proximity sensor and light sensor. Just looks green in pic, but I could be wrong.
Looking at the photos maybe its some kind of light/flash??? but you don't see it on the black so who knows
When the 3G came out I went white while everyone went black. 3GS came out I went black. IO4 comes out, returning to the white.
I honestly think that the back of this phone does something. Its kind of odd that it does nothing. who knows maybe not. Either way, I am glad that they made the screen for the front and the back glass allot stronger. So not as many cracked screens this time around I hope.
All the same, cannot wait. time to go lay back down and nurse myself back to health!

I have a 3G ipad = $30 month
wanna get phone 4 = $39 voice + $15 data(wont much data because of ipad)
All together = $85 a month. is this really the cheapest plan?
Im wiling to pay it i guess but is there another route i can take that is cheaper?

ah - yes - It looks different and I thought it might be a button to keep the rotation from happening when you are looking at the screen and turn sideways to lay on your side to view. Is there another way to keep the screen from rotating - software option?

As you said you don't see it on the black model. It's pretty much where you'd expect the proximity sensors to be, no phones I know of have a front facing flash, and even then Apple didn't mention one.

... and 1000s of people loved the new look too. And the poll showed the majority did like it. In fact, I seen more people saying how much they hated the plastic look of the 3GS.

Back in the early days of OS X when all you could get was a 400 mhz G4 processor the OS moved like a snail on valium. It couldn't be called "fast", it felt "solid" but also "slug like".
The rumor was started by a bunch of jokers over at macnn.com (at least that's where I first saw it) who'd illegally gotten pre-releases of 10.3 or 4 indicated it felt "snappier" on such hardware.
I wouldn't say snappier, I'd say more like "less slug-like".
Once Apple started adopting faster hardware it started to become less of a problem but I remember thinking that the 2.5 ghz dual G5 was the first Mac that felt "fast" to me. Now of course even the lowest end Mac seems fast and the "snappy" thing is just sort of a inside joke or catch phrase from back then that's survived on.
Back to iPhone 4 stuff....yes, I also may go white this iteration out after having my 3g for eons now.

I'm just saying one or the other. The fact that there wasn't a storage increase or a price drop is disappointing.
God the fanboyism is crazy, I'm a fan of Apple, but they've been disappointing me (and others) lately. Seriously, you guys are praising the phone that you guys were hailing as fake and ugly when it leaked at first. And Wifi only video chat is really lame.
And yeah, it's a great device, it's still disappointing, Apple can do a lot better. HTC certainly has.
That would make sense. Maybe the sensors have a hard time seeing through the white glass so they have had to make tiny holes for the white.
