Iphone 4s stops playing music and iTunes music issue

I always select my own songs to sync with my iPhone, I only have backs ups set for my apps and saved documents and setting. I've also jailbroken my iPhone 4s with the Absinthe method for my ios 5.0.1 model. But the song static thing has been an issue before the jailbreak. The only thing new is the songs not playing after a random period of time. Plus I've notice that at times, Siri will not respond to the headset button. Has anyone else notice this or other random issue after jailbreak their iPhone 4s? I could be wrong but I believe my issues are do to the jailbreak. I jailbroken other ios devices before but this time its very different. My phone gets very hot to touch, the screen flashes or become scrabbled at times when it resets/reboots when using SBsetting app. The other thing I've notice today, is sometimes my 3G data connection just doesn't work. I'll have full signal and the 3G indicator showing on the phone and when I try to us mail or the web, it just sits there until I force close or restart my phone. If the Jailbreak is the issue, is there a way to remove it?

I just upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 yesterday and now I am seeing this as well...Songs just randomly stop playing, pause, etc.

The worst is trying to skip tracks on the lock screen, sometimes they play after a 30 second delay, other times the pause icon is shown (meaning music should be playing) but no music is going....

I have a iPhone 4 and this did NOT happen in 4.3.x...No official response from Apple on this issue yet it is very common from what I have seen on google:mad:

UPDATE: FIXED!

1) Connect iPhone (mines a 4) to PC
2) Music tab under your iDevice
3) Uncheck "Sync Music" and hit sync
4) Warning will appear saying all your music will be delete, hit OK
5) Deletes all music on your iDevice (takes 1-2min max)
6) Check "Sync Music" and hit sync (will take a LONG time, 1-2 hours depending on # of songs)

God was this annoying...after waiting for all my music being transfered over however, it is working today :) Been playing around with it for an hour and it hasn't stopped playing yet...not even at the lock screen which was the worst culprit.

Variation?

After finding this thread... it appears maybe this is a similar issue to me.

But... before I go trying this "fix" with the un-syncing and then re-syncing of music, mine happens when playing Pandora, too.

In that case, it should mean it has nothing to do with the music files ON the device, right?

Maybe it's a related issue... or maybe their two similar but unrelated issues. But just wanted to find out if this is happening to anyone else when streaming music, too.

It's occuring on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2.

With my iPhone, I use a dock in my car to stream Pandora... and I've found that if I have the audio switch to 'On', so that alert sounds can be heard (sms, email, alerts, etc), Pandora will stop outputting sound (but not stop playing!) when such an alert comes in, until I unplug the cable and plug it back in.

Now, my iPad is doing the same thing... but obviously there's no audio switch as on the iPhone. So when I'm listening to my music (iPod app) or Pandora, while not being connected to anything... just playing through the built-in speaker, the audio will cease playing whenever an alert/email occurs, or even when I type in a text box and my 'tock' sound occurs with keystrokes. (usually not right away, but within a few seconds of the sound executing) And in the iPad's case, I have to press 'pause' on the audio player, and then 'play' again, and the sound returns.

These are both VERY reproduceable. But I haven't found any solutions, yet, in my Google searches. :(

Having the same problem. I'm using Spotify, and listen to podcasts downloaded from iTunes.

Everything works fine for about 10 min, but then it gets hopeless. In random appearances the sound disappears.

My solution at first was to pull out the minijack and plug it back in. This got it working in the beginning, but now it doesn't work anymore.

I have also tried syncing, resyncing Spotify, stream music from Spotify, reinstall my iPhone, but nothing seems to work.

I had jailbreak on 4.3.2 it was fine. Jailbreak 4.3.5 I had my voicemail and iPod pause after a few seconds. Jailbreak 5.0.1 was fine. Jailbreak 5.1.1 same problem, voicemail, iPod anything that plays audio pauses after a few seconds. Rebooting fixes problem temporarily but it returns after a few days. Not such a big deal because it's fixable but kind of a pain when you go to listen to voicemail and can only listen to a few seconds at a time or wait to reboot. Does anyone know if restoring and re-jail breaking fixes this? If not it would be a great waste of time copying all my stuff and starting over. It usually takes me two days to get up and running again.

Radio/iTunes stops playing

I just experienced this problem and that is how I found this forum. After reading several entries I became disappointed that no one seemed to have an answer to this annoying problem. So I power cycled again, did not work, so I tried a little trick I learned at AT&T where I am a rep. I did a second level reset on the phone by holding down the sleep/wake button and the home key at the same time until the phone powered off and then powered itself back on. It worked, It took longer to register for this site than it took to fix my iPhone, which is now playing the 5th song in a row. If this does not work for you too I suggest you call your cellular carrier as the Geniuses at Apple don't seem to be able to help you and I figured it out in a few minutes!
