Losing out to the what? Evolution? Seriously I don't know 1 person who has an Evo. I personally know 8 with an iPhone, and that was with just 2 minutes of thought.

As a owner of iPhones since the first day they were released in 07 and a recent owner of the Droid X (still own the 4), which is supposed to be the iPhone 4's real competition let me say the iPhone 4 wins. Droid is nice and the next best thing but still needs more polishing. I honestly think it is the OS that is holding the Droids back overall. Nonetheless, time will tell and competition is good for everyone.

I wonder what you fan boys will say when Android phones outpace the iphone?

No one, single model Android phone will ever outsell the iPhone because there are about a dozen different models to choose from (and growing).

If all you care about are handset sales, then RIM is spanking everybody.

In terms of OS Marketshare, however, Android is definitely going really strong due to their reliance on 3rd party hardware as opposed to Apple and RIM's approach of making their own hardware and software.

I think the question is not IF but WHEN Android as a whole will outpace RIM and Apple. Anyone who thinks otherwise is pretty blinded by their fanboism. It's like insisting that OSX will be able to dominate the Personal Computer OS Marketshare by relying on 1 sole hardware maker vs tons of companies using Windows.

I do believe, however, Google needs to do an intervention on the growing number of crap-skins, crap-ware, and force a little bit of uniformity on their platform. It seems that they are doing this very thing in Gingerbread (Android 3.0) but it remains to be seen.
