I took my iphone with me this past weekend on a 3 day camping trip. I had service and also was using it to play music. NOTHING happened to it.. Like I said, just be careful with it.

I second this. Pelicans lifetime warranty is unbeatable, and was particularly useful that time I ran over my 1500 case w/ my car (don't ask).
Definitely go with at least a zip-lock baggie. You might want to leave it with someone you know, NOT going on the wet/loopy rides. I treat it the same as if I was wearing an expensive pair of sunglasses...
Was there yesterday. Zip lock bag, & a zip up sunglasses case worked just fine. But I DO think the Pelican Case is a good alternative when you go somewhere where your needs are more on the extreme side! Off to Catalina for SCUBA next weekend, so I think it will go into a Pelican for THAT.
I took my iPhone 3G to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom twice for a Company picnic, and it was no problem. I put it inside a wristlet and had it attached to my belt loop on my shorts. It would always be leaning against my thigh when going on rides like Medusa and White Water Rapids. And my iPhone came out totally fine.
I always keep my phone with me in case my family and I get separated, especially in a huge amusement park. I would never keep it in my pocket for obvious reasons.
If you got a small bag like the fanny pack ZenoVT mentioned, I would keep it in there. Or inside a zipper pocket on your jeans. Otherwise leave it at home or in your car if you need the phone later.

Holster/belt case FTW! Put a thick rubber band around it if it is the horizontal belt case. Keep it shut for every ride with loops. If it is the water rides, put it in a locker somewhere, let a friend/relative carry it in their purse, or carry a ziplock bag in your pocket.
X2 is wild. Almost lost my glasses with them on. Was there just a couple of years ago and was a season member back in 2005 before Tatsu came out. Been on all those rides many, many times.
That's why I like to keep my P&S camera because it has a wrist band I can tighten around my wrist to prevent it from fallng. Your iPhone 4 has no chance with the type of g forces if you attempt to record anything with your bare hands while on the ride.
Just buy a belt case with a rubber band to keep it shut.
