This is the updated page on the Apple Store site...

And the incredible iPhone 4 sales continue to roll along! I predict over 1 million total by the end of the day! :)

More and More glad I was able to get my order in for the 24th delivery :)

WOW! I'm predicting this iPhone will sell OVER TWO millions by next weekend. The 3GS will no longer be the top selling iPhone after next week.

Good news though. They are still guaranteeing delivery of the 8GB iPhone 3GS on June 24th!

Remember, this can be misleading since the number of phones made for the 24th is much larger than what can be made in a week. They have probably been manufacturing iPhones for weeks to meet the 600,000 level that they set aside for 6/24 delivery. Now they started selling phones for 7/2 delivery, which is just one week later, which means they can only sell as many as they expect to make in 1 week (maybe ~150,000) before they have to push the date back again.

So every time they push the date back, it's not like they sold another 600k iPhones, but rather the number of phones they can make in x weeks since the last delivery.

Still, it's very impressive.

Not to count the units being shipped to apple stores for inventory.

Excellent point and also very true.

No wonder why the employees of Foxconn commit suicide.

I feel bad that my first reaction to that was laughing.

Anyways, glad I got mine through yesterday morning and that I didn't listen to anyone on here who said "it's fine, go to bed, wait for all this to die down. you can order tomorrow with no problems" and feel bad for the ones who did.

I wonder if these things are going to get seriously backordered, I mean months.

we shall see.

It's rather unfortunate when this happens, as the people who successfully ordered yesterday will gloat conspicuously, creating unpleasant happy/unhappy threads.

Just a thought :D

I'm not gloating and i got mine in yesterday. It's pretty childish IMO for people to brag about an electronic object. Sure i will be happy when it comes on the 24th. But even if it didn't my life would still go on.

My gadgets don't own me..I own them :)
