I did the exact same, went to the store 1/2 hour before 6pm last night. They keep the doors locked so just knock if no one appears to be behind the counter. The guy that put on my anti glare also said the crystal for ip4 front has a coating that suppose to help with finger prints so I ended up pick up both packs. I haven't had the chance to look at the crystal since the anti glare is already on. I might swap it out this weekend as I'm undecided on the anti glare so far. It does have a smoother surface (less grainy) than the ip3g version but I'm noticing in direct sunlight, there seems to be a slight haze to it.

Thanks much for posting. If you do put on the cystal please let us know how it compares with the anti-glare.

I know there are already too many threads on PS protectors but since I was asked on this one, I'll answer here. It's been less than 3 days and I've already gave up on the anti glare. It is just too difficult to see what's underneath the screen protector in an outdoor environment with direct sunlight. I've now switch to the crystal and the difference is night and day. There really is no comparison since the crystal is pretty much like looking directly at the screen with nothing on.

I must also note the anti glare is so slick with its matte finish I find that you actually lose some sensitivity while dragging things around on the screen. It might not matter if you're just doing normal day to day tasks but it made bejeweled harder to play lol. As for finger prints, I didn't find it harder to clean than with just the screen itself, nothing a t-shirt wipe can't take care of. Anyway, your experience may be different so good luck.

Hmmm, I haven't really had a chance to use it outside during the day. I'm usually indoor. I'll have to take a look at that and if anything I might switch back to the sgp oleophobic and coat it with car wax like some other member did for the fingerprint issue. lol. I would hate for bejeweled to be harder to play! LOL.

Huh? Isn't that the primary advantage of anti-glare? That it's easier to see in direct sunlight compared to the glossy and reflective naked glass?

I've always found the opposite. With the anti-glare screens the light is scattered in all directions over the surface of the screen making it nigh on impossible to find an angle where even the ambient light doesn't overpower the display.

With the glossy screen because the reflected light is bounced right back at you, a quick change of angle and it's crystal clear.

I've given up on anti-glare screen protectors, the only thing I think they offer is a better feel to the touch screen, more like paper. They cut the clarity of the display, make it harder to see in bright light and whilst they decrease the fingerprints they still get really smudgy over a while.

my brother just came over with his iphone 4 sporting the HD power support matte

compared to my SGP oleophobic

+Definitely more fingerprint proof
+Very slick surface

- Reduced brightness
- Reduced color saturation
- Reduced resolution clarity
- Sparkly solid colors

They are two VERY different products

if you are a person that doesn't care about super high resolution, or don't enjoy cleaning your screen, then definitely get the Matte screen protector

but i'll pass

so, I'm trying to decide on which one to get.
Is the SGP oleo cutting some glare as opposed to a naked screen?
I don't care much about fingerprints, but I can't really stand the glare - If someone tells me that the oleo cuts some glare and does not degrade the image as much as the PS anti glare, I could be getting one...

Anybody know if the anti-glare or crystal fits well with apple's bumper? Or would I have air bubbles once the bumper is on? Thanks in advance.

nope equal amount of glare. I installed my SGP Oleo and from far away it looks like the phone doesn't have any kind of shield installed.

Get an anti glare if you don't want glare.. but it will kill your retina display

I think it may have to do with my brightness turned down a little to conserve battery. Sure it does not glare but it also puts a grainy matte finish on the enter surface which makes it hard to see through it. I'm not sure how to describe it better and wish I had taken a pic or two before I replace it with the crystal. :(

any updates OP ? Have you tried out the crystal shield or are yous ticking with the anti glare ?
Thanks

Sticking with the anti glare. I don't have any issues with it and I love the fingerprint resistance on the screen protector. I don't mind the small sacrifice of the clarity.

yup to each their own

they are very different shields

you have to pick your poison

fingerprints and clarity
no fingerprints and less clarity + sparkly solid colors

I had the Crystal on my original iPhone 4 (stolen).

On my replacement phone I had the anti-glare PS film laying around so I put it on. I really like the matte screen and lack of fingerprints. On the downside it does negatively affect the clarity of the display and so as soon as my new pack of PS films arrive, it's back to crystal on front and black.

The new retina display makes even the smallest of fonts legible, but the anti-glare film handicaps this benefit and so for me it's gotta be crystal clear even if it means cleaning fingerprints all the time.

Hi , just want to bring this thread back to life. Can some comment on how well your antiglare is holding up? Or did you move on to crystal?
Thanks

Another vote for the power support crystal being an oil and fingerprint magnet.
