As many others have said, just because you have a bad experience doesn't mean the rest of us do. I have wonderful reception on AT&T, I couldn't be more happier. Have had 2-3 drop calls in the last 3 almost 4 years. Get a minimum of 3.5Mbps down and 1.2 Mbps up. When I was with Verizon I had a drop call every other day. Location is the most important factor and AT&T is a lot stronger in my area than Verizon.

I'm not trying to say that AT&T sucks for everybody because it doesn't and I know that. But generally speaking it does. If you've ever read one of the surveys taken on carriers though, AT&T customers are the least satisfied. I used to be very satisfied with AT&T up until recently when my phone kept dropping calls and failing to send texts. It may actually be a problem with the iPhone though and I shouldn't be blaming AT&T. The only time AT&T has ever frustrated me this much is when I got a RAZR2 in 2007 and payed $5 a month for insurance on the phone. Then, when my phone broke I called AT&T up and they said insurance on that model of phone wasn't offered, and that I would have to downgrade to a phone that had insurance.

I've had some similar issues lately, but it's more or less related to the location I've been in, which hasn't been consistent.

Has it been a consistent problem in your area?

Data has been reasonably fast, but the it takes me three tries to get a picture message to send, no matter how many bars I have.

^^ He's right, Verizon generally has lower ping.
It depends what you are comparing though. Web pages and email will load faster on Verizon, but streaming video and music will be faster on AT&T.

It depends on your location. Coverage varies with everyone.

But I will take slower more consistent data over fast spotty data anyday..

When you move your phone about 1 ft and drop 3 bars and data gets slower than edge speeds and than all of a sudden start downloading faster and then slow down again, is not good service... It should be CONSISTENT....

I had a BB 9700 that never dropped a call in my house.. NEVER.. My BB finally took a dump so I upgraded to the 4, needless to say in the first week of having the phone I've dropped 5 calls already in my house.. Never had a problem with the BB just with the iphone so far..

I had the 3G before the BB and that one was bad at dropped calls spotty data.. I hope I'm not going to be reliving that nightmare all over again..

Hopefully with this T-mobile thing they can get some more towers and maybe we will get better coverage...
