Spider web scratch. It's very faint but now that I've seen it, it's extremely noticeable in the light.

I had my iPhone 3G for 2 years with no case other than a leather belt holster and the screen has not one scratch on it.

There have been the same stories back and forth since the first Iphone came out. Someone hit their screen with a hammer and not a scratch. Someone else blew their screen a kiss and it shattered into a million pieces. It's unexplainable.

So very true. I think the bigger issue is that I'm beyond pissed for finding it. I would of never noticed it but now that I know it's there I can't stop seeing it. It's like a sore on the inside of your cheek that would heal if you could stop messing with it.

I feel your pain. As they say "Been there done that" with earlier toys.

I'm just going to be calling Apple tomorrow for a replacement. I was going to for the proximity sensor anyway, and this just further rationalized doing it for me.

I've kept this phone in a microfiber pouch since I got it and the screen is always kept spotless. I also treat it like a baby so I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced some front glass scratching already.

I've heard that if you smother iPhones and don't give them any freedom then they turn to self-harm.

Add me to the list. I had my iPhone 3g for almost two years with no scratches on the front, and today I noticed about three scratches on the front of my iPhone. I have not had it in a pocket with keys or anything, so it's a bummer. Oh well, at least it's happened and out of the way now.

Does anyone know any good scratch removing techniques/products? Would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed a few very tiny scratches on mine. You have to look at the phone in direct light. It appears that they are in the coating or underneath. Who knows? Anyways, now that they are there I think it's great! LOL! It means I'm using it! Seriously it's a phone. Big deal.
