The iPad could use some more pixels, if you're to close text will look pixellated.
But the pixel density is still higher than a high-res 15" MBP. To get to the iPhone 4 ppi you would need to have a display with more pixels than a 27" iMac which would make it far to expensive.

I'm also glad I didn't get an iPad.

iPhone 4 basically owns the iPad.
Yep, and there's no need for a man-purse with iP4.

Not if you can afford both. If you use one, you will see what the benefits of each are. Persoanlly they will work in tandem for me.

iPad 3G: video, photos, internet, games
iPhone: music, calling, texting, light browsing, games

The point is the iPad is another device that runs iOS 4. Are you going to question your MacBook too now that this has a better screen?

They are 2 completely different devices with different usage for me. After using my iPad, I won't browse the web on a phone unless I absolutely have to. Honestly the specs of the iPad vs. the iPhone 4 don't matter in my real daily usage. Nothing about the iPad feels slow and I don't expect that to change when I get the new iPhone. I'll be more than happy to have both. But those who are waiting on an iPad are seriously missing out on something great.

But I'm enjoying my iPad and you're not. There will be a new iPad or iPhone every year. Enjoy all the things life has to offer now. You never know what the future brings.

apple loves making up things... The Retina display? lol its a 960x480 display thats all, it will look great but i hate when apple makes BS hype.

Like most of the industry?

Yep, and there's no need for a man-purse with iP4.

Do you carry a man purse with a laptop? Or with your books?

ditto on that. I am loving my iPad, will love the iPhone 4 and will love the second gen iPad when I get it.

Pretty much. If you can afford a device and use it to it's potential, you don't have to be making cute comments on a forum.

all these iPhone 4 own iPad comments are laughable...

I thoroughly enjoy sitting on the couch and reading the news or a magazine or just browsing the web without having to pinch to zoom or scrunch my eyes because the iPhone screen is so small...
