Don't defend the Android app store, at least acknowledge why you bought the phone. You can have your own reasons, but let's face it, they don't include "superior selection of apps".
Who needs 400+ channels on their TV? You only end up using like ten channels, so why not get basic cable? ...because you'd have far less channels to choose from? But you're only going to use ten, who cares which ten?
See my point? I can't get most of my favorite iPhone apps on an Android. Many of these apps are games. As a gamer, the Android can't even compete. It's like comparing a Mac to a PC when it comes to gaming; macs lose every time (but I don't play many computer games).
No! What im saying is there are a ton of Apps in each store and you will only use a small fraction of them anyways. Im not defending anything, just saying.
And i dont have the biggest TV package either. I get ....well im not even sure, but i think i get 150-180 channels instead of the 200+ i could have and i dont have any of the crappy movie channels either........BECAUSE i will only use a fraction of them so whats the point of having more?
I didnt get my Vibrant because of the App Market so you are right there but it has grown a lot since i have had my Vibrant which has been 11 months now.
Now i do agree the gaming part of the Market isnt as good but you can get HD games for Android and the beauty is, you dont have to just rely on the Market like you do with iTunes. There is at least three different Markets (App Brain, The actual Market and Amazon market for Android) but i havent looked at each real closely to see if there is much diference in selection...which i kinda doubt but dont really know or check for different prices, and you can just get them on the internet too.....for free a lot of times.
I myself dont play a lot of games so the lack of games dont bother me much but yes, you cant get Battleship for instance in the Market because they dont have one a far as i know and the scrabble game isnt as good becaue i dont want to just play against somebody online, which is how it works in the Market with what they do have. But you can get for example, Gangstar in HD which is pretty much Grand Theft Auto....and probably for free if you look.
