Carbon Fiber certainly will block RF signals (probably at least as well as metal does)
This is the truth. The description on that web page is disingenuous. Carbon fiber will block RF because it is a
good conductor of electrical fields.
Saying something is an electrical resistor is technically true of all things. Every substance has some non-zero resistance to electrical current flow (unless it's a superconductor). In general, the
lower the resistance, the more it will block RF signals, as the material will absorb them. When you say resistor in general terms, you generally mean something that is used to resist the flow of current in order to get voltage drops. CF is not a material you would use to do that.
Things with high electrical resistance will not absorb electrical waves, thus letting them pass through. This is why a cell signal works through a wood and drywall house, but has problems in a metal elevator.
The HTC Hero uses a form of Teflon. Because of this, it's strong and also resists fingerprinting.
