Im not really familier with GSM/EV-DO/CDMA but the article is from a European site. Do they have tmobile in Europe? Does it use EV-DO/CDMA?

Yes, there is T-Mobile in Europe (Germany specifically, oh and it's also GSM based), but the article mentions Verizon, so it has its basis here in the US. (ie, Verizon screwed, T-Mo gets the iPhone)...

However, that can't be. T-Mobile runs a GSM with GPRS/EDGE for 2G and 2.5G/2.75G and then on top of it, it's newer UMTS 3G with HSDPA/HSUPA for 3.5G.

EV-DO is 3G for CDMA networks, and in the States, only Verizon and Sprint do EV-DO. So if Qualcomm supplies said EV-DO chip, the iPhone won't run on T-Mobile US (or Germany). Only on CDMA, based carriers, like Sprint.
