Ever since the pics started rolling in for the iPhone 4G, immediately I shunned it off as a fake, or a very earlier prototype. I could name 10 reasons why based on design alone it wasn't real. But as more and more...and more photos pop up for this thing, I have to be almost certain it is the real deal. As far as I'm concerned though, it is UGLY!

I still have the 1G iPhone. I was going to get the 3G/3GS, but funds weighed me down. So I am finally ready to upgrade, and I have to say this new model does not look at all appealing. The 3G/3GS had some good amount of sexy to it. Plastic, yes, but sexy. Aluminum is the way to go, and clearly Apple's path to future sexiness. But the 4G is just so dull! It's flat on every side, with an odd number of holes and molding lines in it. To me it looks like something motorola or htc would role out with-not Apple. I expect more from them, going above and beyond with design, and this is not it.

ANybody think the same?? Please someone tell me I'm not alone here....

I like the white one. But white is my favorite color. Lol. I like the whole clean, sleek, modern look.

$10 says you and nearly everyone else who says it's ugly will change their mind once official shots of it are out and you see one in person.

I'll be buying it regardless, because Apple has my life under contract with them, lol. The software is fabulous, but the ID of this thing looks like it was made from scrap parts, not crafted and designed by an industrial designer. It doesn't match anything in Apple's line up. If it had a slight curve on the back like the iPad, with some unibody goodness, I'd believe it's real. And because it's anodized, they could do it black or white.

I'm just not seeing it fellas :(

I always back Apple 100%. But this 'thing'...I just don't know. June 7th will tell all I guess...

GolieGeek, I hope you're right. I'd gladly pay you that 10$ if I'm wrong, and I'll admit if I was and I like it.

i still think these are decoys and its not gonna look like this, but if it does, at least invisible shields will be easier to put on

As far as looks go. I'm pleased with the design. Just wished the screen was a little bigger and it had a led notification light. Something to wish for for next year I guess.

I'm mainly excited about it finally having flash so we can snap pics in low light situations. I'm definitely pleased with the overall look of it.

Lol true dat. I don't ever fall In that cat cause I always like anything that's new. As long as its the next best thing. I'm a sheep, and a very good one at that.:D

I'm excited about the volume buttons.

I think they switched to simple round buttons so they can be mapped for multipurpose use, like a shutter button for the camera, etc.

Most people cannot take a good photo.

Product photography is a specialized profession.

When I first saw it, I thought it might be the ugliest Apple product to grace my eyes. It's grown on me though, mainly because it's unique, sleek (the glass back is so sexy.)

I guess we'll just have to wait until Monday to see what it actually looks like and then make decisions from there.

I think it portrays a smart, industrial look. I like it very much and can't wait to get my hands on one. I actually don't like the current models form factor nearly as much. I like curves on 2 things - women and cars. :D

No, no and thrice no! :D

Lots of people wanted a redesign and Apple have produced a very clean, sleek looking handset IMO. (Beauty is in the eye of the beholder mind you!)
:D

How is this post any different than the other 50 like it? I however must be as stupid as the people that keep making them seeing as I can't stop posting in them!
So that being known...... I think this is hands down the best looking iPhone in my opinion, and yes I know it's MINE and not everyones. Like I've said before this design, when compared to the 3g/3gs, finally looks like an "adults" phone. That is not to say I dislike that design, but I still like the original design by far. I accepted the reason for the plastic back and embraced the design. I can now say I "love" the iPhone design again. I don't understand how people think this is so "un-apple" when it is an apple design. Aluminum and glass is so damn sexy and the round buttons serve a purpose that a rocker couldn't perform or I think they wouldn't of changed it. Even the seams are there for a reason.... Do you really think they would put them there for nothing? I think you're a bit crazy if you really think that.
I say to each his own and if you still don't like it when it's live then go with another option, there are lots of other great ones out there.

I think it looks terrible. Why couldn't they make it look like the iPad?!? I have owned all 3 iPhones and my the first is still my favorite. I never had any reception issues due to the aluminum back either...

I'm probably skipping this generation anyway and going with the Evo unless Apple really surprises on Monday.

I think it looks extremely sleek, like an ultra-modern re-design of the original iPhone. I have a 3GS and never really cared for the plastic 3G look. Every time I look at my 3GS now it just looks so old by comparison.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think the smooth/flat look is the way to go.
